Prints and Buzz

Posted on August 24th, 2009 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | 1 Comment »

Do you always play safe when it comes to prints? How about steppin’ it up a notch for some crazy and wild prints? Here are some colorful Custo Barcelona shirts that I received in the mail last week. It sure feels like Barcelona… the prints, the colors… Thanks to Haute Look, Custo Barcelona, and the readers who have joined the Sample Sale site Haute Look through my blog, I got two new (free) printed shirts that I can’t wait to try. I still have to get a black bandeau for this backless shirt. I left my bandeau bras/tube tops back in Manila, thinking it won’t be useful here but I was wrong. On the other hand, the long sleeves top will be perfect for fall! Anyway, here are the tops…

The Buzz on NY & Company

Posted on June 23rd, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | 1 Comment »

I’ve always known NY & Company to be a cheap brand targeted to women in the business world. They usually have office clothes and lots of cheap bags and other accessories among many other things. I’ve never liked their clothing right from the very start. Although there are of course a number of pieces that will do. But they are the kind of cheap but not so cheap brand. They have a lot of knock-off pieces that are of course cheap (being a knock-off), but is more expensive than the other knock-offs (if you get what I mean). I’m not a fan of their signature bags simply because I know they’re trying to mimic the labels such as Coach, LV’s, Fendi, Gucci, and many others… They even have a copy of the shoulder bag I got from Coach a couple of years back. But don’t get me wrong, they do have some cute bags from time to time.

American Style-It. Dexter-It!

Posted on March 11th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | Leave a Comment »

So Fashion Juice not only features premier designers… Fashion Juice also gives credit to other labels that offer lovely looking pieces at affordable prices! I got this from Payless ShoeSource today and they’re featuring Dexter shoes this week! Great American style I must say. These two shoes are somewhat similar to the styles of Ralph Lauren. Not that I’m comparing the two brands, don’t get me wrong! Yet somehow, when you look at these two shoes, it makes you think of Ralph Lauren pieces. These two shoes really have that American Style exuding out of them. The only downfall is that these are made from woven faux leather. What do you expect from a $19.99 shoe, right? I’d say it’s okay to wear faux leather with that price. Of course we all know that genuine leather will last longer, but it will also cost you more. If you’re just looking for a pair of new shoes for the season, then a $19.99 shoe would be a great choice. :) However, if you’re looking for something classic, something that will last long, something that you can be proud of, then I must say this may not be what you’re looking for.

Sarah Jessica Parker: Shine Brightly, Spend Lightly

Posted on March 10th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | 3 Comments »

Finally, Fashion Juice was able to go to Steve and Barry’s last weekend. It’s been months since Fashion Juice was introduced to the Bitten brand from Sarah Jessica Parker by a very dear friend. I haven’t been able to go to that side of town and so when I had free time last Saturday, we decided to drop by. I was in for a treat because for those who aren’t aware of the brand, almost everything there is priced at $8.98 (plus tax of course)! Wow! So, I tried on a few pieces (err… about 16 pieces). I had to count it all before I could get in the dressing room… Whew! So… while I enjoyed my fitting experience, it was sad to say that I didn’t like most of SJP’s pants… they were nice but none fit my body type. Even if I get one size smaller or one size bigger, it still didn’t fit. Their size 4 was too big at the waist, but sits comfortably at the hips. So if I got a size 2, it would still be a bit loose at the waist but will be too tight at the hips. But honestly, most of her pants were gorgeous! So, to my dismay, I just got some shorts, shirts, and my new LBD (little black dress). Too excited from the shopping spree… I tried them on right away without removing the tags… and by the way, I’ll be sending some pieces over to my friend in Manila… :) I’m sure SJP’s designs haven’t landed the Philippines yet.

Fashion SHOULDN’T be a luxury… :)

What do you think of this black dress? SJP was wearing this with a shirt. This dress also has removable straps… so I can wear it strapless in the evening, and wear a fit white or gray tee inside with the straps for a casual look!

Shopping Has Never Been This Rewarding!

Posted on March 1st, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | Leave a Comment »

Yes! Shopping has never been this rewarding when I went to H&M yesterday. I left the store all smiles! Literally… until I got home! Previously, I posted in Shopping H&M how I bought two dressy blouses, one collared tee, and three linen cropped pants for just $30! My total was $60 though, because I bought a $29.90 bag featured in the Ralph Lauren vs H&M entry. So anyways, I came back to H&M a little bit late… Yet Fashion Juice was still able to find great bargains… perfect for the coming Spring and Summer!

Spring is all about color and floral prints

Whites, Stripes, Summer Look!
Colorful shorts, BOWS are so NOW!
Cropped pants and khaki colors are great for a Safari-look!
Spring Look

So, I was able to buy 3 tops (2 striped tops, 1 yellow floral smocked top), 2 cropped pants (pink, khaki), and 3 shorts (red, khaki, orange). Guess how much I spent? $24 or PHP 960! If I were you, run over to H&M before they ran out of stock! :)

Shopping H&M

Posted on February 20th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | 1 Comment »

I went to the mall today and was very satisfied with my fashion finds… H&M has always been a part of my trip. But today, I made it my first stop. Usually, I go directly to Macy’s or Nordstrom. But I’m so happy that I went to H&M first. I was so lucky to discover these great finds at H&M this week! I’ve taken a shot of the stuff that I bought… Let’s see. I got a navy blue cropped linen pants with tie, white cropped linen pants, and an orangy-pink cropped linen pants as well. Also, I got three tops: a fuschia baby doll blouse, a tan with light gold stain baby doll blouse, and black collared tee with puffed sleeves. I also got the black patent bag I featured in my previous entry: Ralph Lauren vs H&M. So guess how much I spent? Just $60 for all these… $29.90 for the bag and the remaining for all the clothes I got! Interesting? I’d say very!

NOTE: The tops and bottoms were just laid out in random. So I’m not suggesting that they should go together. The fuschia and tan/gold baby doll tops are dressy blouses you can wear with a black skirt  or black trousers for the not-so-ordinary but not-too-formal occasions. But you can also pair it with boot cut, wide leg, or straight cut jeans for a night out. Now the black collared tee is for any occasion (except formal). Pair it with jeans for a casual look. Match it with white linen for a Resort outfit. You can also wear it with a denim skirt for a flirty touch. Since this cotton tee has collar, you can match it with light-colored business trousers and a matching coat. As for the cropped linen pants, you know what to do with it! I figured Spring/Summer is just around the corner. So why not stock up on great deals? White is perfect for the coming seasons as it can easily match bright and lovely colored tops! The orangy-pink color is great for that Spring/Summer look! And navy blue… good for any season!
