Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

I still have no time to post my Weekly Wear. So hopefully tomorrow afternoon, I get the chance. I’ve been doing a lot of paperwork and financing. Just doing accounting and financing takes me a couple of hours to do. Yup. Seriously. I’m the one doing our personal financing stuff and I make sure that everything’s covered, all bills are paid, budget for all the expenses are covered, etc. And because of the painful expenses we’ve been incurring for the new house, I’ve been pretty stressed looking at all the numbers… I’ve been breaking out as well. It’s not because of anything that I’m using because I’ve been using them for like ages. I’ve started to realize that I do breakout when stressed and because of dirt too. Before we got the house, I’ve been stressing out on our mortgage company. They’ve been a pain to deal with. They don’t respond to our emails and when they do, they do it like 5 minutes before close of business. So if we reply, they won’t be able to answer anymore. They’ve been like that the whole time. They didn’t even tell us when we got approved. The seller was the only one who told us that we can already close/sign. So during the waiting process, I was breaking out! When we moved, it was so dirty here. There were so many gross stuff left behind. It was dusty, dirty, smelly, etc. So again, break out! Now, we are almost done. But just going through the expenses stresses me out. At the same time, whenever I travel it’s hard. I do break out as well. Going on a road trip for like 24 hours – without cleaning the face and all makes me break out as well. Aside from that, wearing a hat/cap or simply covering my face for a long time – be it my bangs, make me break out too!!! OMG! I do have a sensitive forehead. So when I came back from the trip, a few more zits came out. ARGH! Now I know too well. Have to take care of my face and have to stop getting stressed. Perhaps I need some sleep too… And some fruits and milk to cleanse my body… And to avoid dirt, smoke, dust, etc. ARGH!!!

Okay, enough blabber. This is supposed to be a fashion blog I know. But I just had to rant. Anyway, Thanksgiving is here and later at midnight, people are gonna go out to shop. OMG. Another expense. I have to save up. I’m not going to shop for myself. I already bought gifts for my Hubby for Christmas, New Year, and for his birthday! LOL! I know it’s super advanced. But anyway, He too has already bought me a Christmas and Birthday present. In fact, I told him that Valentines and Anniversary will be included in there too. Wait for the reveal. It will probably arrive next week. :) Going back, I’m only going to shop a few gifts for family and friends but that’s just about it… Oh wait… (PAUSE)… Thank goodness for designer sample sale sites like Gilt and Rue La La… I still have shopping credits!!! Weee! So now, I’ve already ordered gifts for the guys. Now I have to look for gifts for the girls. Perhaps I’ll just have to buy toys later on for the kids… :) WHEW! Less expense. Thanks to all! I told you, join these sites and spread to your friends so you get to earn shopping credits as well!!!

Thanksgiving Bargains

I know this post is a bit late but as they always say, better late than never. :) So we went to Allen Premium Outlets for Midnight Madness last November 28, right after Thanksgiving Dinner. Just about 1 to 2 miles (or more) before reaching the outlet, we were surprised to see a lot of cars lined up on the road. We thought there was an accident of some sort but, oh no… all these cars were lined up on the entrance of Allen Premium Outlets! Then, some of the cars beside us started turning their cars to the grassy side of the highway. Wow! Seriously? After a couple of minutes, we started seeing a lot of cars doing the same thing. They started parking beside the highway. Haha. So, of course, the line got shorter and we were already near the entrance. But, it seems there’s really no way to get a parking space. So hubby found another entrance without cars lined up. Well there were still a couple of cars but not like the other main entrance. So we went there instead. We were in luck because right where we stopped, there was a couple ready to leave the outlet. Thank God!

Non-Traditional, Traditional Thanksgiving

Posted on December 1st, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | Leave a Comment »

Thanksgiving is a yearly tradition that Americans celebrate every November. It was in 1621 that the first American Thanksgiving was celebrated to commemorate the harvest reaped by the Plymouth Colony after a harsh winter. After that, the other colonies started celebrating Thanksgiving after fall harvests. Back then however, the thirteen colonies did not celebrate Thanksgiving at the same time up until October of year 1777. It was George Washington who declared it a Holiday back in 1789. In 1863, Abraham Lincoln declared the last Thursday of November a day of Thanksgiving to unite the nation. From 1939 to 1941, Franklin D. Roosevelt wanted to lengthen the Christmas shopping season so he proclaimed the third Thursday in November as Thanksgiving Day. After that, Congress passed a joint resolution that Thanksgiving should be celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November where it remains to date. Now that we’re done with a bit of history, let me share with you our Thanksgiving dinner the non-traditional, traditional way.

Happy Thanksgiving People!

First of all, I want to greet you all a Happy Thanksgiving! I’d like to thank all my readers for keeping up with me for almost a year now. :) I know all of you will be busy starting today until Cyber Monday (like me), so I’m just going to make it quick (???). Also, even if I wanted to list down all the best deals this Thanksgiving, I’m so busy that I won’t be able to. I wanted to share with you all the sales and promos a fashionista should be aware of – including the juicy details. But instead, I’ll just write down all the shops/stores off the top of my head that I’ll be checking out for the sales this Friday. Perhaps you can get an idea where to go to as well. :)
