Rodarte for Target Collection
Posted on January 3rd, 2010 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | Leave a Comment »Most of you probably know about Rodarte and it’s collection for Target… however, for those who are not in the loop, I’m going to give you an introduction…

Who is Rodarte?
… more like what? It’s a fashion label from designers and sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy. They’re from Pasadena, California. In 2005, they set out to New York with some of their dresses and coats, tagged “Rodarte” – their mother’s maiden name. They’ve shown their collection to almost every major fashion editor and upscale retail buyer – and it paid off. Their meticulous and romantic dresses were loved. Only 3 years after, they scored the 2008 CFDA Swarovski Emerging Womenswear Designer award and the 2008 Swiss Textiles Award. Today, they are a widely known up and coming designer in the Fashion World.
TRIVIA: Remember the 13 year old TAVI behind the fashion blog Style Rookie? Yup, it was the Mulleavy sisters who invited her to their fashion show that got Tavi more attention.
What is Rodarte for Target Collection?
On November 2009, Target announced that it is partnering with celebrated designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte to create the next limited-edition collection for GO International, an innovative program designed to provide affordable fashion created by world-renowned designers. It was released in December 20th and today, a lot of the good stuff have already been sold out – online and in stores.
So I went the other day to Target and most of the pieces left were in XL.
But thank goodness, I found some pieces in my size. Yay! See that black dress on top? I wanted one in like a soft peachy pink color but they were all in XL sizes…
Now isn’t this something new? lol!
I got the blue lace top with sleeves together with a mustard yellow camisole and a matching mustard yellow lace skirt…
I put a belt on it from Forever 21 and matched it with my suede Nine West booties…
Just foolin’ around…
I first didn’t put the belt on, but I noticed, the skirt (size S) was actually big on me. I have to go back to Target today and return it. It was the last smallest piece there.
Actually, the camisole is also big (size S) and so I have to go back for a size XS (hopefully they have one). The lace top is priced at $16.99, the camisole is $19.99, and the skirt is $29.99.
first wore it with my bronze pumps… which unfortunately cannot be seen here… LOL!
here are the Rodarte for Taget goodies I got…
wearing my gold Jacques Lemans Formula 1 Chronograph watch with gold Amrita Singh bangles and Kenneth Jay Lane bracelet
at the fitting room… I loved this leopard dress but decided to go against it because the bows at the back were falling on the sides… it was intended that way because there’s a zipper going through it… plus, it’s $44.99. It’s not bad for a Rodarte dress. However, I don’t have any budget for unnecessary things right now. Holidays just ended, and the pockets are damaged… LOL!!! And oh, I didn’t zip it all the way up so the shoulders/top part is actually hanging in this photo and not how it looks in real life…
