Ralph Lauren 2009 CFDA Most Popular Designer

Okay, I know this is a tad bit late. But I’ve been busy lately… so please pardon this late news. The 2009 CFDA awards named Ralph Lauren as America’s most popular designer. Well, I think they got it right. After all, don’t we just love his preppy clothes such as the polos and the jeans… and oh the jackets and blazers… there’s no denying it’s truly American style and it surely is one of  America’s most popular labels. Ever since I was a kid, I already knew Ralph Lauren. And until now, his designs are still coveted and admired to the point that it is among the  most copied labels. But hey, the original definitely outclasses those fakes. And the material they use in their shirts and other apparels cannot be compared to its impostors. Well, as they say, nothing beats the original! If only everyone discovers their own style! :)

About a year ago, I was planning to  buy one of the latest totes from Ralph Lauren, the Ralph Lauren Canvas Medium Pony Tote. But good thing I didn’t buy it just yet coz when we went to the outlet store last weekend, I found one on sale! The original price of the medium Pony tote is $115. But if you buy it at the outlet store, it costs only $69.99. But last Saturday, it was on sale for just $39.99. So who am I to refuse? Haha :)

Yes, I was quite lucky to find Ralph Lauren Polo shirts on sale at their Factory Stores last week. The after Christmas sale turned out to be really big. In fact, some said that it has become the new Blackout Friday (after Thanksgiving)! Yes! Because of the slump in the economy, retailers are trying to lower their prices just to get as much sales as they can to survive. I don’t really make New Year’s Resolutions. I just tell myself that I have to do more of these or those and so on… It’s not like a pact that I’m promising to keep. I’m just thinking of things that I want to do. Perhaps it could be like my to do list – which I always do. I always keep notes. That’s why I love planners and organizers so much even way back in gradeschool. They know me well as Miss Organizer/Miss Filofax Girl ‘coz you’ll see me changing my planner like every season for as long as I see something better, I’m changing. Sometimes, I just mix the pages together. Like get the pages that I want from this planner and get the other pages from the other one, then put them all in the best looking organizer. Yup, I’m kinda choosy or “maarte” when it comes to planners and organizers (HINT, HINT: I want the LV Planner… haha).

Last Monday, we were able to go to Nordstrom Rack! Yay! It’s about a 40-minute drive from home so I won’t be seeing this shop that often. That’s what I actually miss in Maryland – where I can just walk a few minutes to Nordstrom Rack.

Celebrity Trends I’m Lovin’

The best way to know the hottest trends of the season is to check out the most popular styles celebrities wear. One of which I’m loving is this hot tube pantsuit on the right.

Pantsuit Jennifer Hudson, Heidi Klum, and Sanaa Lathan were the ones seen wearing this gorgeous outfit. I love that you can wear it in any season. You can wear it to work by adding a blazer and you can go have dinner or party the night away just by taking the blazer off. You can add a coat during fall to winter season or just have a formal dinner date with your beau on a hot summer night. Either way, I love this and I am determined to find something like it. LOL :) .
