Prada for $200: Flip Flops with Case

For a Prada, this flip flop below, selling for $200… well… is cheap… considering you get a case that looks like a cosmetic bag. Sure thing flip flops are just flip flops and $200 is a lot of money. But for Spring and Summer where you can get away with wearing flip flops with almost anything… not to mention that the bag that comes with it can be used like a small pouch or cosmetic bag, I think it’s definitely worth it. Rue La La’s Prada Final Sale

I was about to post this yesterday, to inform you readers that Rue La La was holding a final sale today for Prada bags, wallets, pouches, and belts. But I simply lacked time because of the very long post I made. LOL. But anyway, I overslept today since it’s a Saturday anyway. So when I logged in to Rue La La, all the Prada items were sold out! Everything was like swept away and I’m not kidding. Why wouldn’t it be when the prices were steals and the bags were just oh so gorgeous.

Prada Perforated Saffiano Tote for Spring

The moment I saw the Prada Perforated Saffiano Tote, I knew I had to share it with you. I definitely see this as a classy bag for Spring. It’s a shopping tote but it looks just as classy as any other leather hobo or medium bag. It doesn’t deserve to be a shopper but a bag to match a flowing floral maxi dress or a tie dye skirt… the Spring fashion… the works!

For $1,350, the Prada Perforated Saffiano tote comes with a gold hardware, shoulder straps with rings, a magnetic closure, and best of all… a detachable zip pouch! I love it! The size of this bag is 12 9/10″H x 14″W x 5 9/10″. And of course, this bag is made in Italy. I love it! This bag comes in three colors. I love this camel color below.

Let’s Start New Year with a Bag (bang)

Yes yes yes, the bag hag MFJ is back. My Fashion Juice is opening 2010 with a bag review. And this is an unexpected one. I told you there are a lot of changes to come here in My Fashion Juice this New Year. And in fact, even my view on this bag has changed… and if you have expected a fancy bag review/feature since it’s New Year, guess again. I’m only featuring a simple everyday tote.

Several months ago, I’ve somewhat bashed this bag: the Prada Nylon & Saffiano Leather tote. The reason? It’s so Louis Vuitton Neverfull! Don’t get me wrong. I love the Neverfull. However, I don’t like the idea of Prada making a similar and ICONIC bag such as the LV Neverfull (and Goyard Saint Louis for that matter). But I won’t ignore the fact that it is actually an affordable (and I say this only because it’s cheaper than the other designer bags) and practical bag to have. Yes I know, my recent bags have been mostly totes… so why would I still want to have this?

Why Get It?

I fell in love with the colors. It’s not everyday that you get to wear a colorful designer tote – except of course if we’re talking about the colored Goyard bags or the Balenciaga’s for that matter. But this one – from Prada, is not as expensive as those mentioned. And at the same time, it’s a great bag to tote everyday. Whenever I carry my Goyard St. Louis PM tote, I’m very careful with the material – it’s hand-painted, FYI. But with a nylon tote such as this, I probably wouldn’t have to worry every single minute that I’m carrying it. And again, I just want to emphasize that I love these two colors. It feels like Spring time is here… I can also see it go well with Resort wear. Aaaahhh… fresh. I can see myself traveling with this bag. Now I’m already clueless as to what bag to get next. LOL! Any sponsors?

Bag Details

This Prada Nylon & Saffiano Leather tote comes with double shoulder straps (10 1/2″), a magnetic closure, inside zipper pocket, nylon lining, and measures 16w x 12h x 5 1/2d. And the price? It’s $695 – a couple bucks cheaper than it’s direct competition – the Louis Vuitton Neverfull PM tote. Of course, Louis Vuitton must not be compared to this bag. LV’s Neverfull is full-on leather and the color is gorgeous – be it the Damier or the Monogram. However, if you want a pop of color to liven up an outfit… and if you don’t want to worry about leather scratches and wrinkles… and if you’re a bit on the clumsy side… then I recommend getting this bag instead. The mustard yellow, denim, and black colors are available at Saks Fifth Avenue.

1. Jimmy Choo Bordeaux Leopard Print Patent Leather Hobo – $1395

I’ve seen this bag once on a lady while I was shopping at Forever 21 in NorthPark. She was carrying an all white though with soft buttery leather. It was gorgeous… no… it was more like angelic.

2. Prada Nocciolo brown soft calf leather large drawstring tote – $1195

I’m not particularly in love with the drawstring, specifically in nylon. For me, drawstring=rugged + nylon=casual/rugged= it takes out the elegance. But when Prada makes it in this soft luscious calf leather, it’s different. Oh I’ve seen a couple of ladies with Prada bags in tow and I’ve always been left in awe. But on a side note, just about two weeks ago at NorthPark Center, I saw a girl, probably in college, carrying a nylon Prada bag of which style I’ve never seen before. It was love at first sight. Now I know what nylon bag to get from Prada. I just hope it’s still there by the time I can afford to buy. Hehe.

3. Gucci Sukey teal leather trim and ebony GG canvas – $750

This brand I usually feature. I always get updates from Gucci so I make it a point to share it with you all here. I love tihs Sukey bag below and how it matches the sandals. However fierce the trend can be, I still go back to my matchy-matchy roots from time to time. I love this classic, timeless look – the whole outfit! I can see myself wearing this when I bring my kids to school or attend a Parent-Teacher meeting… haha… but first, produce a baby! Hahahaha Soon!
