Old Navy Handbags Look Familiar

Posted on October 16th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | 2 Comments »

I must say, trends are trends. One powerhouse designer makes it and the mass media retailers follow. However, it will be best to not try duplicating a very popular bag. In any case, don’t copy or imitate someone else’s work. It would be better to recreate a trend, give it a twist, and call it your own. You don’t wanna be called second-rate now, do you? Just take a look at these Old Navy handbags to understand what I’m talking about. Pretty familiar aren’t they? Can you guess what designer bags these Old Navy hand bags are copying? Think Chanel and Prada… Now do you know? The two bags on top look similar to the Coco Cabas and the Cambon Shopping Tote respectively, while the third looks like the quilted small nylon bag from Prada. Actually, the top left bag is also similar to a Prada handbag.

This season, it’s all about shopping wisely. What with all the expenses we’re incurring from vacation season (not to mention the ever increasing gasoline prices… etc), it’s only smart to grab affordable pieces to balance out your budget. So here, I’ll be posting more affordable pieces instead of the usual designer items that ladies drool on. Rainy-Sunny-Rainy Saturday + SATC + Jelly Gladiators

Posted on June 2nd, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | Leave a Comment »

So the Saturday started out to be gloomy just before we hurried to watch Sex And The City Movie. I have been looking forward to this since months ago and last Saturday was finally THE DAY! Now I have this tip for those who are looking for ways to save…

With the ever growing expenses we’re facing, you would probably think to skip the movie and just rent a DVD. But what if you don’t want to be left behind on the next greatest movie to hit the cinemas?

MY GREAT TIP: Watch early! How about you wake up a little early during the weekends just to catch the 11 am or 11:40 am showing? It’s only $6 per person (cheaper in other cinemas) as compared to $8-$10 in the afternoon ’til evening shows.

So after the movie (that I so love), the rain had stopped. We grabbed some Starbucks and went on to go shopping for some stuff. But just before we reached the car, the rain fell hard on us. My white peep toe shoes were wet (but not ruined) and I had hurt my foot from all the running… it was a blessing in disguise… hahaha! I was infront of Old Navy and I got to buy the jelly gladiators shown here. I got the jelly because it was raining… and because it was metallic! It was on sale for $15 but since I had a 10% off coupon, it was even cheaper.

ANOTHER GREAT TIP: When you purchase stuff, check your receipts! No, not just for errors, but if there’s a line there that says take our survey… They usually give you coupon codes after you complete their survey. Now that’s a time spent wisely!

Thanks to all the Fashion Juice readers who have been patient with the new website transformation. Though I still have some tiny bits to fix, I am now ready to post new entries here in the site. But before anything else, notice that I used the same photo in the About Me part of sidebar. Since a lot of readers have been familiar with that photo, it has somewhat been part of the Fashion Juice branding. So if you’re wondering why I still used the old photo, now you know why… On to my first real post after the revamp…

Play Dress Up: Black Swing Coat

Posted on March 6th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | 1 Comment »

I was so shocked to discover that my Old Navy swing coat has a very similar yet more expensive look-a-like. I bought my Old Navy swing coat last August/September ‘07 for only $39! I was surprised to see Rachel Bilson (Jumper, The O.C., That 70’s show) wearing something almost exactly like it. I was browsing fabsugar.com when I saw this… So Fashion Juice decided to add a new category to the site… “Play Dress Up”… haha!

Black Swing Coat
Old Navy Swing Coat, $39 vs Mike and Chris Bailey Bubble Dress, $308
Zara Turtleneck, $30 vs J. Crew Cashmere Long-Sleeve Tee, $138
Landmark’s Black Tights, $1 vs Seven Joyce Denim Pants, $158
UGG Chestnut Classic Tall, $150 vs Minnetonka Fringe Boots, $80.95
(didn’t have the Chanel bag though… haha)
