The Buzz on NY & Company

Posted on June 23rd, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | 1 Comment »

I’ve always known NY & Company to be a cheap brand targeted to women in the business world. They usually have office clothes and lots of cheap bags and other accessories among many other things. I’ve never liked their clothing right from the very start. Although there are of course a number of pieces that will do. But they are the kind of cheap but not so cheap brand. They have a lot of knock-off pieces that are of course cheap (being a knock-off), but is more expensive than the other knock-offs (if you get what I mean). I’m not a fan of their signature bags simply because I know they’re trying to mimic the labels such as Coach, LV’s, Fendi, Gucci, and many others… They even have a copy of the shoulder bag I got from Coach a couple of years back. But don’t get me wrong, they do have some cute bags from time to time.

Our Addiction to Bags, Bags, and more Bags

Anya Hindmarch Mirror Straw Clutch

Anya Hindmarch is an English designer who released the super pop “I’m not a Plastic Bag”. This mirror straw clutch is one of my favorite clutches that the designer showcases this summer. It’s a perfect example of a sophisticated summer bag! It screams LUXURY! Get it a Vivre for $395. Click on the photo to get one now!

Straw Clutch with Bamboo Button

This one from Glorinha Paranagua is the more color-specific clutch that is so cute… it’s like you don’t know which color to get. What’s more s that it’s cheaper… just $275!!! Get it from Vivre… another great online store I just discovered. Click on the photo to begin shopping!

Ghibli Turquosie Python Skin

Now if you’re looking for a not so expensive exotic bag – this Turquoise PYTHON skin tote bag from Ghibli is the answer! I love that the top part – the handles and the shape – is so reminiscient of Dior bags. The only difference is that it has more room for your stuff and it’s cheaper too! Plus, it’s PYTHON skin! It’s only $1,278 at Forzieri Italia! Click on the photo to check it out.

Pleated Satchel

“On the cheaper side of things” comes the New York & company’s City Style Pleated Satchel. It comes in black, brown, and khaki color. I love the blue the most since it doesn’t look like it’s only $34.95! Yep, you heard me. This is a cute everyday bag that you can get for less than 40 bucks. Last take on Maxi Dresses…

Posted on June 18th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | 1 Comment »

Once more I am obsessing on maxi dresses. For weeks now I have been going to the mall almost everyday to look for a maxi dress. It’s pretty frustrating actually… It’s like all the stores in the mall are now out of stock! The H&M in my area doesn’t have any maxi dress anymore. Walmart no longer has. The Mossimo dresses at Target have so much stock that I don’t recommend you getting any because you might end up seeing someone wearing the same dress. Nordstrom (rack) is out of maxi dresses. Macy’s have none! NY&Co near our place was closed. But the NY&Co dresses I’ve seen online weren’t my taste. I would rather find a monochromatic dress than get prints I’m not very fond of. Nevertheless, I got some $5.99 halter tops and a variety of belts, plus the red clutch from NY&Co. Forever 21 seems to have only short dresses at the time. Their sister company has one but seems weird having cargo pockets on each side of the dress. Now I found this “7 ways to wear” dress at Victoria’s Secret. But it sells at $95. Well, if you’d think about it, it’s a good buy. Think of buying 7 dresses for just $95. So I was thinking about getting that. But if I can find something else, it would be better. So I checked out Wet Seal. Although before, I had a bad impression on the shop. However, their items online seem to be okay. So I found one for almost $30. I still doubted. Thankfully, Victoria’s Secret is still having their semi-annual sale and their dresses are part of it! I know I just splurged on VS a few weeks ago, but they have a super great offer that I couldn’t resist. Their maxi dresses are priced at about $50 to $100+. However, their new offer is 2 dresses for just $50! Now who would want to resist that? I’ll show you the dresses I got once their shipped. But for now, check out their latest deals below… OH… and by the way, I even get a free tank top. For $50 purchases, you get a free tank top at VS. Just enter TANK50 at checkout! Love them!

New Love: NY & Co. Shopping Tote

Posted on April 3rd, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | Leave a Comment »

Ladies, New York & Company is on sale. However, as Fashion Juice have been saving up on more important things, we have to keep THE shopping budget to a minimum… But when Fashion Juice saw these gorgeous faux leopard shopping tote, we fell in love… haha! It’s original price was at $34.95 and was on sale last week for $11.95. So I instantly grabbed this one. To my dismay, there was a small scratch so I wasn’t able to take a picture until I had it exchanged. So yesterday I went back to New York & Company just to find out that they dropped the price to $9.95. Ugghh… I was able to exchange the shopping tote, but I wasn’t able to get it at the new low price. Too bad. If only I had waited… Still, $11.95 aint that bad for a big Leopard shopping tote. So I’m very happy with this great find! Also, below are some of the $9.95 handbags and clutches they’re selling. I always look forward to NY & Co.’s sale as they always cut off up to 70% or even more of the original price. What’s even great about it is that they have decent-looking bags, clutch, wallets, sandals, jewelries, shoes, hair accessories, sunglasses, etc… I prefer browsing through their accessories over their clothing as they tend to focus on more basic wardrobe pieces that are highly priced as compared to other labels. At the same time, they are more of an office wear brand. I do have to praise them for their simple yet clean cuts. I see them as a cheaper US version of Marks & Spencer, when it comes to clothing.
