Nordstrom’s Clinique & Bazaar Fashion Show

Last Saturday, I was fortunate to watch Nordstrom’s Clinique & Bazaar “Beauty at Every Age” Fashion Show at NorthPark Center in Dallas. Up to now, I don’t know if Cadillac and NorthPark Center will ever bring back the “Fashion at the Park” fashion event / fashion show like they did last year and the year before that. I was able to attend the CFDA fashion show night where I got to see Marchesa, Doo Ri, Thakoon, Peter Som, etc. So basically, I’m pretty much checking out the NorthPark Center events every now and then. Well, at the last minute, I decided to head to NorthPark upon reading that there will be a mini fashion show care of Nordstrom, Clinique, and Bazaar Magazine… I wasn’t even prepared and only brought my point and shoot camera.

Anyway, the show was all about beauty at every age, Clinique’s beauty tips and Bazaar magazine’s fashion/styling tips combined. They featured models in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s. They gave away swag bags and also have trivia questions where you get to win prizes.

Let’s start with the women in their 20s. I missed one lady coz I was moving to a different spot. I first tried taking a shot above the ramp but decided to just go down for a better view.

Nordstrom Does a Twilight Line

Fans of Twilight, I am certain you’ll be raving about this… Nordstrom is launching a Twilight line on October 15, a month before the second installment, New Moon, hits the theaters. But online presale will start October 1. So I am thinking it may sell out even before it hits the stores. Well, the line will include graphic T-shirts, like a $32 one that reads “Team Edward” (Robert Pattinson’s character) and has hearts all over it. A $30 “Cullen family crest charm necklace,” tank tops, and a plaid jacket are also part of the line among others… Twilight fans, are you buying come October? I think I know a couple of people who will. I might even be one of them…

These gorgeous sandals are priced below a hundred – giving you more reasons to get more than just one. Haha. But I know the average Jane will still find these sandals pricier… so in case you like to be able to save more, I’d say go Nine West or Steve Madden. But for now, let me take you to Nordstrom where the latest trends this season are waiting. Perhaps Tory Burch flip flops will be all I can afford. Must keep myself from shopping – at least until Easter. Hehe…

Last take on Maxi Dresses…

Once more I am obsessing on maxi dresses. For weeks now I have been going to the mall almost everyday to look for a maxi dress. It’s pretty frustrating actually… It’s like all the stores in the mall are now out of stock! The H&M in my area doesn’t have any maxi dress anymore. Walmart no longer has. The Mossimo dresses at Target have so much stock that I don’t recommend you getting any because you might end up seeing someone wearing the same dress. Nordstrom (rack) is out of maxi dresses. Macy’s have none! NY&Co near our place was closed. But the NY&Co dresses I’ve seen online weren’t my taste. I would rather find a monochromatic dress than get prints I’m not very fond of. Nevertheless, I got some $5.99 halter tops and a variety of belts, plus the red clutch from NY&Co. Forever 21 seems to have only short dresses at the time. Their sister company has one but seems weird having cargo pockets on each side of the dress. Now I found this “7 ways to wear” dress at Victoria’s Secret. But it sells at $95. Well, if you’d think about it, it’s a good buy. Think of buying 7 dresses for just $95. So I was thinking about getting that. But if I can find something else, it would be better. So I checked out Wet Seal. Although before, I had a bad impression on the shop. However, their items online seem to be okay. So I found one for almost $30. I still doubted. Thankfully, Victoria’s Secret is still having their semi-annual sale and their dresses are part of it! I know I just splurged on VS a few weeks ago, but they have a super great offer that I couldn’t resist. Their maxi dresses are priced at about $50 to $100+. However, their new offer is 2 dresses for just $50! Now who would want to resist that? I’ll show you the dresses I got once their shipped.
