As we have all expected, Vogue’s March cover is none other than the First Lady, Michelle Obama. We’ve seen this coming and we’re really proud. “On the campaign trail, the new First Lady wore clothes by labels like H&M that everyday people could relate to — things we never see in Vogue. Yet here she is, the second First Lady to grace Vogue’s cover, after Hillary Clinton.” – NY Mag. This is another history in the making… a First Lady who doesn’t mind wearing clothes from J. Crew or H&M, be a cover of Vogue. Way to go Michelle Obama! This is a must buy! Gotta get my copy soon!

That is how powerful the First Lady is. Imagine, one of the things that people were looking forward to on the day of the inauguration was the dress that the First Lady Michelle Obama will be wearing. And true enough, Michelle Obama’s fashion choice has made a designer famous in an instant! As soon as she got out of the Presidential Limo, photos were taken and questions were asked: who designed the dress? As mentioned in my previous post, it was Isabel Toledo. And what has this big historical event done to her career? Instant Fame! The proof shown below.

I just wanna say how lovely First Lady Michelle Obama’s gown is. No, make that, the First Lady Michelle Obama was stunning and goddess-like at the Inauguration Ball, especially with her fabulous gown designed by Jason Wu. It’s funny how in one night, Jason Wu became one of the most popular designers of today. This upcoming designer from New York, who by the way interned at Narciso Rodriguez, may be known to the inner circle of the fashion world but outside, people wouldn’t even know the designer exist… until the night of the Inauguration Ball.

Congratulations Dear President Obama!

I have been tuned in the whole day to ABC just to watch a turning point in history. I have to admit (though a bit embarrassed) that I was in tears watching the First Family arrive at the White House, then finally seeing President Barack Obama’s inauguration. I was impressed, yet again, with President Obama’s speech (yet again, in tears). You inspire not only the American people, but also the rest of the world.

So to the 44th US President, we support you in rebuilding America.

We have faith in you!

Madam Michelle Obama’s dress and coat by Isabel Toledo, was a great choice for the First Lady. It was classy, elegant, and the color (yellow-green) was light and fresh – a way to start a great year for all of us – just a short note to stay fashion-related.

I love that Michelle Obama’s green gloves and green shoes were from J. Crew, just like the coats the First Daughters Sasha and Malia wore. I admire that the First Lady is a smart shopper!

So Harper’s Bazaar is featuring Tyra Banks dressed as Michelle Obama along with Roman, a male model, who poses as Barack. We’re seeing more and more people from the Fashion industry making their statement in the world of Politics. Well it’s nice to know that people (or magazines) are not just concerned about labels and such. It goes to show that a lot of people are concerned about their country and fellow citizens’ future.  Well, let’s see what this feature is all about by watching his video from the photo shoot.
