Louis Vuitton Collaborations

We know how successful the collaborations of Louis Vuitton had been with artists such as Takashi Murakami and Richard Prince. Think water color speedy! Now you know what I’m talking about. Now we know Marc Jacobs is the brain between these collaborations. And what could probably be the last collaboration as of the moment is with Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons. Rei is a Japanese female designer who said that you can see her wearing a no-name black tote. She has resisted grabbing a Louis Vuitton and so it’s quite interesting to see someone design a luxurious bag who doesn’t want to spend on one. However, because of this collaboration, she said that she’ll be getting one soon.

Any how, Louis Vuitton’s 40th anniversary is marked by the release of this collection. The bags designed by Rei Kawakubo was put on sale August 27th at a pop up shop in Tokyo. Below are the pictures. So do we like it? I’m sorry but we don’t. And I think Marc Jacobs wants to say that he’s not happy either. He said that this is the only collection where he wasn’t involve in the design. He also said that it’s getting out of control. This is what he has to say.

“I’ve kind of warned everybody up there that I think they’ve gotten a little too into this idea which, I mean, is great,” Jacobs said. “I’m glad that everybody gets behind it, but what they don’t realize is that I do it at a pace that maintains the brand’s integrity and seems really right, and I think that sometimes everybody loves a good idea so much that they kind of go too far and it kind of kills it.”

Pre-Fall Now Out!

Almost all designers are now releasing their pre-fall collection. So start looking at the upcoming trends for Fall ‘08! I personally love this Prada bag and shoes, and the Gucci bags, and the Christian Louboutin, and the Jimmy Choo bag, and the list could go on and on… haha! Of course there’s also Fendi, Marc Jacobs, and many many others… Will try to feature the rest in the upcoming days, if time permits.

To tote or not to tote?

This new satchel from Marc by Marc Jacobs has given me second thought on getting the Tory Burch jane tote. Shall I go with Tory Burch? Or shall I go with the Marc Jacobs? Ugh… It’s a tough one… we’re considering all factors here. The color, the size, the price, the functionality, the bag’s life, and which is more seasonless? If you were me, which should it be?

Aside from bag confusions, I’m happy that I was able to complete my 2 new projects right on time. Now, I have umm… still a lot on my hands. Good thing I’m still waiting for materials from my clients so I have some time to spare for Fashion Juice and the readers. Why shouldn’t I have any time… when I should actually be making some spectacular post for today because Fashion Juice has reached its 10,000th view! This post marks the 10,000th view for this newbie site. Thus, I have to thank the Fashion Juice readers for continuously supporting me. What will I do without you? More plans are to be done to this blog in the future. But of course, I can’t really tell when it will all happen so just you watch out!

Anyway, it’s me and hubby’s anniversary… not the wedding anniversary though. I know we just celebrated our 2nd year wedding anniversary. Hehe. It’s our anniversary when we were still dating. Six years have passed and we have survived. We were able to overcome all the obstacles that have blocked our way. I am so happy. I have never been this sure, this happy, and in love about a person, and that person is my husband Andrew. I love him so much! So enough of the cheezy stuff. I will try to make one more post just before we leave for our anniversary dinner.

Would You Wear it the Hayden Way?

Hayden Panettiere has designed a line of bags for Dooney & Bourke. I know I know… this isn’t something new. The first ad on the Hayden bags that Fashion Juice saw wasn’t much of a catchy one. Maybe I’m not just a fan of Dooney & Bourke… But I have to admit that after checking the patent bags, Fashion Juice had a change of heart. I personally love this Patent Medium Chiara Bag (seen in the ad below) which is big enough (L15.5″ W7″ H11″) to carry everything. What’s even great about this is that it comes in red, black, yellow, white, turquoise, cobalt, fir green, and fuschia. It’s a great statement bag, I must say. It’s even cheaper, at $345, than the limited Hayden bag, $500, below. The Hayden bag also has limited colors – brown, black, white, and red. If you’re a total fan of Hayden, then you may prefer the Hayden bag over the Chiara. But if you want to have your own style and identity, then I don’t suggest having an ID tag that is someone else’s initials… just a thought.
