Which Wich?

Posted on June 29th, 2009 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | Leave a Comment »

For a moment let’s stop talking about clothes and let’s get into the topic of food… After all, like I said in my previous Fave Fashion Quote, fashion isn’t something that exists in dresses only. I consider good tasting and well presented food as fashionable and stylish as the bags and shoes or clothes and accessories that I love. I enjoyed my dinner last night at Which Wich. I’m quite embarrassed to admit that it’s my first time to eat there. There are a couple of Which Wich stores in Texas and I swear, I’ve been planning to eat there for months! Yesterday, I was finally able to taste the really delicious sandwich! I ordered the vegetarian sandwich – nothing like I expected! It was perfect. Didn’t know sandwich could be that good without meat! Now I know what to make at home for myself whenever I make Hubby his chicken sandwich. :)

Philippine Restaurants I Love

Posted on December 9th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | 2 Comments »

Since feeling Nostalgic because of the upcoming Christmas, I decided to feature some of the Philippine Restaurants that I love. I know this could be a very long post. Haha! I’ll list down everything I remember, and hopefully give you a link to their website (if there’s any), oh and just a couple of descriptions too. Also, note that some of those that I’ll be posting may or may not be closed already or have moved somewhere without my knowledge. Also, this list includes all the Philippine Restos (that I can remember) that I have tried and those that I haven’t tried but have been longing to try (only if I’m home, awww). Anyway, here they are in no particular order. :)

Mixed Vegetables ala Fashion Juice

Posted on May 20th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | Leave a Comment »

Hello Fashion Juice readers! It’s been awhile that I haven’t written or posted any recipe on my blog. And since I consider myself an all around “Artist in the Making” (hehe), I do enjoy exercising my creative side even on food. If you’re thinking of a quick side dish to pair with your main entree, I suggest cooking some mixed vegetables that even kids (hopefully) will enjoy (or not)… hehe. Anyway, here’s my mixed vegetables ala Fashion Juice.

Mixed Vegetables ala Fashion Juice

What you’ll need:

  • 2-3 Hard boiled eggs
  • 1 can corn
  • 1 carrot, sliced and boiled until tender
  • 1 cup broccoli
  • 1 small can or 1 cup button mushrooms or shitake mushrooms
  • 1/4 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1 chicken broth cube
  • Seasoning (pepper, salt/light soy sauce)
  • 1 tbsp butter

How to make it:

Melt butter in a wok or pan in medium heat and saute garlic then onion. Turn to low heat and mix in the carrots, mushrooms, and then the broccoli. Cook for 5 to 10 minutes until mushroom and broccoli are cooked. Add corn. Add the chicken broth cube. You may add 3 tablespoons of water just to make the vegetables a bit moist. Season with soy sauce or salt and pepper. Slice the hard boiled eggs and arrange in your serving plate. Then toss in the vegetables in the middle.

You may also add other favorite veggies like string beans or cauliflower if you like. Enjoy!

Pizza Hut is now Pasta Hut!

This really isn’t about fashion. But since Fashion Juice also covers food and because Coco Chanel says fashion has to do with everything else, then why not share this with you. :) Pizza Hut changed its name to Pasta Hut!

Resto Review: Saigon Restaurant, Baltimore

Posted on March 4th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | 1 Comment »

Baltimore is not a city full of Vietnamese restaurants as compared to the number of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean dining spots… The Saigon Restaurant on Belair Road makes up for that loss. Below are some of the dishes we ordered for dinner last Saturday. First two photos are pictures of the Vietnamese Steak. The third photo is the dish that I like the most, the Crispy Fried Fish. The fourth picture is the Vietnamese Fried Rice, followed by the grilled pork, and then followed by another pork… haha… that’s my cute chubby niece, Isabelle. We also ordered Shrimp Tempura and Spring Rolls that I forgot to take a picture of. Overall, what I can say about the resto is their dishes are very well presented and well prepared. I would have to say the dishes are catered to an older demographic. My mom would probably love the food. I liked the Crispy Fried Fish and the Fried Rice the most. The beef and pork dishes were okay but nothing special except the presentation. The location is great – infront of an old style theater. Enough parking spaces are available and the Starbucks coffee shop is just right beside the parking area.

Easy & Delicious Seafood Cream Pasta

Posted on March 4th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | 1 Comment »

‘Tis the season of Lent, ‘Tis the season of Seafood…

Seafood Cream Pasta

In search for the quick and easy-to-make meal without the meat, I decided to be creative. One time, I’ve tried the recipe at the back of Campbell Mushroom soup. It was a quick and easy Chicken alfredo which only required pan fried chicken strips added with mushroom soup and milk. It was delicious. So last Friday, we ran out of mushroom soup but there were tons of Campbell’s Clam Chowder soup. So I tried something different. I sauteed garlic until a bit brown and then added the clam chowder. I added a can of milk, a cup of parmesan cheese, a cup of cheddard cheese, dash of garlic powder, italian seasoning, salt, and pepper and voila… I ended up with a yummy seafood cream pasta. Sprinkle some parsley flakes to complete the look! Toast slices of bread, spread with butter and/or cheese, and sprinkle some garlic powder for your own version of garlic bread.

Hubby’s Bday Part 4

Posted on February 27th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | Leave a Comment »

Here’s the video as promised in Part 3. This video is a preview of my surprise Birthday dinner for Hubby at Kobe Japanese Steak House. Watch out for the erupting onion volcano-turned-train. Also, watch out how we caught the shrimp with our mouths! I didn’t catch it the first time so I was given a second chance! Drew was pretty sure the cook was a Filipino in disguise. He had that Chinese/Japanese accent which was so easy to copy for most Filipinos. He did ask us though where we’re from. Anyway, I’m glad the birthday celebrant had fun because I sure did.
