See Through Jeans

Hmm… see-through jeans… see-through denims? The first time I heard about it, I was like, what? Seriously? Who does that? Lady Gaga? Rihanna? Then again, they’re both fabulous women whose clothing I honestly wouldn’t wear. No offense. But like most Fashion Designers and Fashion Icons would always say, fashion should not be vulgar… and let me quote Coco Chanel on this one:

“I love luxury. And luxury lies not in richness and ornateness but in the absence of vulgarity. Vulgarity is the ugliest word in our language. I stay in the game to fight it.” – Mademoiselle Coco Chanel

But anyway, this see-through jeans from Siwy (you can get them at ShopBop) isn’t vulgar at all. From the knee below it actually looks cool. But where the see-through material and the denims meet at the top – I’m not too sure. What’s your take?

Spotted: Boyfriend Jeans

Funny because as I was reading an email about Boyfriend Jeans from Bluefly, I happen to be preparing my post about my new found Boyfriend Jeans too. I was just going through the tons of clothes at Marshalls, hoping for great bargains. I normally don’t go through the Juniors’ Denims, but last weekend, I just ended up there. The thought of buying denims or jeans was nowhere near my mind but then I saw this really cheap pair of denims – Boyfriend Jeans from Paris Blues. I’m sure the brand is nothing close to designer but I liked how it didn’t look cheap at all even with the price tag of $12.99. So obviously, I ended up getting it and pairing it with a super cute pastel plaid top from Forever 21. The top was around $14++ and I know I had to get it because it reminded me of the pastel plaid shirt I posted previously.

The Denim Lounge by Nordstrom

Who loves denim? I do! Today, Nordstrom launched their Denim Lounge featuring FOUR hip Denim Designers: 7 For All Mankind, Citizens Of Humanity, Hudson Jeans, and Joe’s Jeans. These four labels feature hip and casual looks pairing denims with sexy, fun, elegant, and girly tops. Actually, the tops were what attracted me the most! I’ve selected a complete look for each of the designers they featured and these are what I recommend (Photos c/o of Nordstrom):

Sleek and Sexy

Citizens of Humanity Shrunken Knit Vest Double-breasted fleece vest with a sleek, form-fitting cut is finished with ribbed trim at the shawl collar and hem. Great for layering.
Citizens of Humanity ‘Hutton’ High Rise Wide Leg Stretch Denim Trousers (Dark Paris Wash) Dark-wash stretch denim shapes a clean-lined silhouette. Stylish wide leg is finished with a trouser hem.

Fun and Flirty

French Connection ‘Swiss Dotty’ Top - a scooped neck and puff sleeves begin a chic, textured Swiss dot top secured along the front placket by eight tonal buttons. Slightly flared silhouette can also be worn tucked in for a modern, polished look.
Hudson Rolled Stretch Denim Shorts - a wide waistband tops on-trend stretch denim shorts in a dark, inky wash styled with pleating at the front for wearable volume. Cute rolled hems are secured at the side by a button-tab detail.

Pretty Hip in Pink
