I know this is not related to fashion, but yours truly, MFJ, being a Filipino, would just like to share the upcoming fight between fellow Filipino Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Ghana boxer Joshua Clottey this Saturday, March 13 as well as the schedule of events for the Fight Week. I am just oh so excited that the fight is going to be here in our home city! And of course, I’m so excited to share that Hubby and I are watching it live!!!

Style Inspiration: Spring 2010

Last Sunday, I was soooo bored at home… trying to get better. My throat started to feel itchy on the day of our housewarming/Hubby’s birthday dinner so helping hubby with last minute fixes in the house for a week, preparing and cooking the food, cleaning up the house, and then cleaning up after the party didn’t help. I was so tired that I guess my immune system was vulnerable. And to top all that, I got so tired checking out the cars at the Dallas Auto Show the following day. So the sore throat turned to fever, cough, colds, and laryngitis. Geesh! So just imagine what I look like right now as I type this. LOL.

Anyways, last Sunday, I took a much needed sleep/rest. So in the afternoon, Hubby and I were able to go about our usual Sunday rendezvous. On our way home, we decided to drop by a bookstore for one of our fave past times… reading. Okay, don’t get us wrong. Hubby hates to read books… and I… well I’m also lazy to read books until I’ve read Meg Cabot’s writing. Hubby on the other hand, goes to the bookstore with me to read car magazines. Then he started reading his childhood favorites – MARVEL! Okay, I’m goin’ way out of the topic. I know the title reads Style Inspiration for Spring 2010, but until now, it’s got nothing to do with what I’ve just typed. Well, to keep the story short, I decided to read the March edition of Vogue last weekend. And, I was inspired by many beautiful things…

Today is a Special Day

Last Saturday, February 13, Hubby and I enjoyed an early Valentines Day Date. It started out with a movie…

Valentines Day Movie at Movie Tavern

It was our first time to watch at Movie Tavern and it was indeed a great theater to begin with. Movie Tavern is like a restaurant/bar/movie house. When you go inside, there’s a bar. Then when you get to the theater room itself, there are tables in front of you. A waiter/waitress will hand you a menu in case you want to order. There’s also a button in the table that you can press when you’d like to call the waiter/waitress. Pretty cool. I loved the movie too but it’s not something that I will want to watch again or buy in DVD/Blu-Ray or even rent. It reminds me of the movie “Love Actually”. It shows bits and pieces of different peoples lives and how they all relate to each other. But this time, it all happens on Valentines Day – how different people celebrate it (or not), in their own way. It was fun. I loved the story but it’s just not something that I will watch over and over again.

Random iPhone Photos and MFJ Stories

Ever since I woke up, I have been checking out the sale items at Forever 21. I got an email of their sale (oh and yes, there are a ton of sales this weekend because of President’s Day Holiday) and have been adding pieces to my cart since then. Argh. I’m now agonizing on whether I’ll get them or not until I decided to make a post first.

Marshalls: One of My Fave Stores

I checked my photos folder to see if there’s something I haven’t shared with you and they appeared to be random photos from my iPhone. Then I saw this photo. I thought I had taken several shots at Marshalls but it appears I only got one decent shot there. Good thing I saw this because now I decided not to get the pieces from Forever 21 and just go to Marshalls this weekend. Marshalls is one of my favorite stores indeed. It’s got everything I need. Take for example this sexy Calvin Klein dress which is normally $128 but was being sold for $39.99 at Marshalls but was marked down to $19.99. There are a lot of trendy pieces available too. I found sequined tank tops and shirts that were selling for $7 bucks! Imagine that. And remember by uber cheap Givenchy tights? I tell you, Marshalls is heaven for me. I so regret not getting the Ralph Lauren: Lauren Label sweater/jacket that was oh so chic and only $20. Oh well. There’s always something to be found here.

I am very much looking forward to tomorrow or Sunday or holiday Monday, or whenever I can go when the road is clear from snow/ice. Aside from women’s, they also have men’s and children’s clothing, shoes, and accessories. You can find DKNY jackets there for less than $50; Michael Kors pants for $20 and tops for $10-15; Roxy swim wear and beach wear for less than $20; Nine West and Steve Madden shoes below $50 and so much more! And their HOME GOODS, a home store within the Marshalls store – is such a delightful place to go when you’re decorating your home. I will take photos next time to share with you all the goodies that can be found there. I can’t wait!
