The Event: Pacquiao vs Clottey

Posted on March 19th, 2010 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | Leave a Comment »

The past few days as I’ve said, have been busy. Manny Pacquiao coming to Dallas got all Filipinos here, including us, excited and wanting to see him in person. But anyhow, let me share with you some videos of the boxing fight “The Event: Pacquiao vs Clottey” which I was able to take from where we were seated. :) For $45 tickets, our section was not so bad. In fact, we enjoyed it so much. This experience is such a memorable one. Just getting inside that huge and beautiful Dallas Cowboys stadium, seeing the entrance and top open automatically was already enough for that price. It was indeed a breath-taking experience. And watching fellow Filipino Manny Pacquiao among many other boxers, made it even more special. And to be part of history – the first boxing event at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium with over 51,000 people watching (3rd highest in boxing history), our $45 was nothing compared to that experience. Anyway, check out some of the videos I took below. :)

Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey Boxing Fight Today

Posted on March 13th, 2010 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | 4 Comments »

All you Filipinos out there: today is the day!

It has been a heck of a busy week for all Pacquiao fans, especially for the Filipinos of North Texas or the DFW (Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington) metropolitan area. The three previous days, Filipinos came to watch Pacquiao train and have their shirts, caps, gloves, jackets, and what-have-you’s signed by Pacman himself. Of course, Coach Freddie Roach, and Buboy among others were there to sign as well. It was indeed a fun and memorable moment for all my fellow Filipinos.

Celebrities’ Favorite Bags of the Moment

Posted on February 22nd, 2010 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | Leave a Comment »

It’s been quite sometime that we’ve talked about celebrities here. So today, I’m making up for it by featuring celebrities and their favorite bags of the moment. After all, I love bags and I’m sure a lot of ladies reading this love bags too. :) And while were at it, feel free to take a look at their day-to-day outfits for some fashion inspiration. :)

I find Emily Blunt so pretty and so girly. I picture her as a grown-up and changed (for the better) type of Blair Waldorf. :) She looks classy and elegant just like her Botkier “Jackie” Hobo which costs about $595. :) I love that she chose a pewter metallic shade because it can still look classy even if the metallic color is often associated with trendy. If you want to go for a silver metallic bag, I suggest going for a pewter shade (dark, blackish kind of silver) so you won’t look like a walking disco ball. :) And what’s even better is that her outfits in all three occasions were all neutrals. And notice that she didn’t have much accessories or jewelry. This will tone down the metallic bag. Great styling indeed. I love it!

Brooklyn Decker, a 22-year old model – who most of you will recognize as Andy Roddick’s wife, landed one of the most coveted covers for models. Brooklyn Decker is the cover of Sports Illustrated 2010 Swimsuit Edition. She’s definitely sizzling hot in a yellow bikini. The cover was shot in Maldives by award-winning sports photographer Walter Iooss. This will certainly be the mark of her modeling career. Expect to see more of Brooklyn Decker in the months ahead.

Gossip Girl Meets Vampire Diaries

Posted on January 29th, 2010 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | 2 Comments »

One of my favorite shows as of late is Vampire Diaries. Thanks to my youngest brother-in-law who recommended the popular show, Hubby, the other B-I-L and I are now all fans.

Trivia

Do you know that there are a lot more viewers of Vampire Diaries than Gossip Girl. I was shocked learning this fact. But it’s true.

Still, one cannot take away the fact that both CW TV shows, Gossip Girl and Vampire Diaries are hit series of today. Blair, Chuck, Serena, Dan, Nate and Jenny  make the Gossip Girl show a hit. On the other hand, thanks to Elena, Stefan, and Damon, Vampire Diaries are getting more and more viewers each week. Some say one factor that makes Vampire Diaries a big hit is because it’s like the TV version of the hit movies “Twilight” and “New Moon”. There’s the beautiful lady that needs saving (Elena) and there’s the handsome vampire in love with a mortal (Stefan).

Going back, CW is planning a switch-a-roo. Nina Dobrev, star of The Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester will switch it up heading to one another’s shows shaking it up as guest stars. It’s gonna be Vampire Girl meets the Upper East Side and vice versa. What do you think?

Transition from Winter to Spring like Charlize Theron

Posted on January 28th, 2010 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | 1 Comment »

Looking for some celeb-inspired outfit that will take you from Winter to Spring season? Here’s Charlize Theron showing us how to transition from winter to spring effortlessly and chic.

Charlize Theron Winter Spring Dress Transition from Winter to Spring like Charlize Theron We know how spring is all about bright colored or pastel dresses, right? However, in the early weeks of spring, there’s still some chill in the air. So to easily transition from winter to spring, why not mix pieces from both season? Just like how we did it during the fall season?

Take for example Charlize Theron. She mixes a bright colored dress from Thakoon’s Addition Collection from Fall 09 and used Wolford black opaque tights (highly recommended and said to be the best opaque tights by stylists and celebs) with some black pumps. And to balance the dark/winter pieces at the bottom, she matches the dress with some leather jacket with sleeves that she pulled up to make it look like 3/4 sleeves. Instant chic. Now let me share with you how I’ll be transitioning from winter to spring, care of Beyond The Rack. :)

I have a new top/dress which I owe to you readers. It’s from the brand/label, Industry. I ordered it during the crazy Blowout Sales from Beyond the Rack. Their sales were definitely out of this world. If I’m not mistaken, I got this top for less than $20. And just look at the material. I love it. If I remember correctly the original price was around $60-80. It was definitely a good deal, not to mention I didn’t pay for it. Yay! I paired it with my recent find, the three dollar Givenchy lace tights I posted the other day.

P.S.

Please excuse my hair and face because I had these photos taken past 2 am, after a night out with friends… LOL!

I Miss Middle School

Posted on January 19th, 2010 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | Leave a Comment »

This is one of the hit songs back then, “I’m Ready” by Tevin Campbell. I remember those kilig/crush moments when I was still in elementary. Wow. That was like more than 10 years ago. Life was so simple back then. You ask for your baon (pocket money) from Mom/Dad and then head off to school. After school while waiting for your sundo (someone to pick you up/designated driver), you can buy fishballs or spa-ketchup (spaghetti with ketchup as the majority of the sauce) usually sa tapat (in front of the school). Play Chinese garter or Ten Twenty (another garter game) or cops and robbers among many others… or simply hang out and chat with your best friends or even with your crushes. Then when you get home, all you do is your homework and make telebabad (on the phone for hours with your BFFs or admirers so to speak) or watch TV. The next day, same scenario. Nothing else to worry. Life was indeed a bliss back then. And yet we were so impatient to grow up… saying “I’m Ready”. Sigh. Memories. Life. Reminisce…

I know the song was cut abruptly. I couldn’t find a decent video of “I’m Ready” in YouTube. If anyone has a link, please do send them in. :) Whatever happened to Tevin Campbell? I don’t know. Anyone?
