Goyard Bag Reveal is Happening Now!!!

Ladies, are you excited? Well, for most of you who have been loyal readers of My Fashion Juice blog (thank you, I love you), you probably already know what bag I’m going to reveal… haha. But for those who haven’t got a clue, here’s my latest bag reveal… (excited myself) 
Okay, wait. I’m going to make you wait further. Here’s something about Goyard before anything else…
Goyard is a French malletier (trunkmaker) founded in 1853, now currently the oldest trunk maker in existence.
La Maison Goyard was founded in 1853 in Paris. Edmé Goyard worked as a malletier then known as Maison Morel (founded in 1792), which his son, François bought out in 1853. At that time, the company was renamed Goyard.
In the past, the Grand Duke of Russia, the Maharajah de Kapurthala, The Duke and Duchess of Windsor and many aristocratic families, all travelled with Goyard luggage. And their special orders have always been an important part of Goyard’s reputation.
Goyard is known for its hard-sided trunks, and small accessories. All pieces are covered in a signature hand-painted patented Chevron canvas made of cotton, linen, and hemp and displayed in various colors. The chevron canvas was created in 1892, traditionally produced in black and red.
Goyard is renowned for monogramming the durable, lightweight canvas with the initials of their customers upon request. To this day, Goyard produces special orders and bespoke pieces, made to order in Carcassonne, France. Goyard reached new heights of popularity and recognition when Barneys New York began carrying the line in the early 2000s.
Other famous clients have included Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Madonna, Karl Lagerfeld, Gregory Peck, Pablo Picasso, Gary Cooper, Debra Messing and John D. Rockefeller.
Currently, Goyard is sold in fewer than fifteen locations worldwide, including two freestanding boutiques in Paris and San Francisco, Bergdorf Goodman, select Barneys New York locations and after its current expansion, the Toronto Bloor Holt Renfrew.
So why did I go for a Goyard bag? And why black? Exclusivity. It’s all because Goyard is not as common as other brands. Goyard is hard to find. And I went with black because black and red are the two original colors from Edmé Goyard. Of course I love the other colors like the red, yellow, green, and blue, but I have been lusting on that black for years. Oh, and being a bag hag, I definitely wanted to expand my collection. A hand-painted bag is definitely a must-have!

And of course, on our previous dinner at Razzoo’s, I had to break-in my Goyard St. Louis PM bag… hehe Hey Hunny, you’re featured here… hehe. Poor Hubby, he looks so tired. 
We’ve been pretty busy working on the house, going on a road trip, and then welcoming guests… last week his youngest brother and this week it’s his oldest brother and his family.
Oh and if you’ve noticed, I’m also revealing my latest treasure from the Gucci Outlet in Cabazon (California)… a Gucci scarf that I got for just a third (or even less) of its original price. This kind of scarf usually retails for $395. It’s the regular-sized scarf and not those small-width scarves priced at $195. So it was such a great bargain. So for those who wanna go to the Gucci outlet to get one, you can get the scarf for just $119 plus tax. There are various colors and designs. This design that I’m wearing was the last piece.
And here’s MFJ… all smiling and happy with my Goyard St. Louis PM bag. And take note, there’s no tax on this one because there’s no Goyard store here in Texas. I got it for just $940 plus $20 shipping. NO TAX!!! This Goyard bag was shipped to me by dear Lucio all the way from the Goyard San Francisco boutique. If you’re wondering how come I wasn’t taxed, the rule here in the US is that if you ordered an item from a brand that doesn’t have a branch or store in the state you are residing, you won’t be taxed.
So for example since there’s no Balenciaga here in Texas, when I order from their California branch or online, I won’t be taxed for my purchase. Whoopeeeeeee! Hehe. I hope I order my Giant City soon… NOT! Hopefully earlier than expected. Haha.

hehe… I thought he knew I ordered the black. I asked him din kasi. Coz sa Barneys the white was available. Pero wala ka na makita sa white. If from afar parang white shopping tote lang sya. Napaisip lang ako at first coz taken na ang mga black. Buti sa flagship store sa sanfo meron 
hehe… yup let him know na lng

hi. congratulations! i tumbled upon your blog because i want to know more about my new bag … yes! i’m a new proud owner too! i got mine from my sis in law who just came back from a trip in paris… haven’t used it yet, maybe this weekend on a christmas party. can’t wait. i bought a base shaper and i still have to see if it’s better w/ or w/out it… cheers to our new babies!

Is your Goyard shipped via UPS/FEDEX? Does it come with a box (Goyard or UPS/FEDEX’s)? Or it s via USPS?
USD20 shipping sound very reasonable to me.

hi Berrrynice! Mine was shipped via UPS with a UPS box. Yes, $20 is very reasonable and I got it pretty quick – less than a week (3 days I think). My SA said they didn’t have boxes so I requested to ship it with a paperbag instead. I usually keep my bags inside their dustbags, inside the box, and inside the paperbag.
I was very satisfied with my purchase. 
If you want to purchase from the Sanfo Goyard store, I can send you my SA’s contact info. He was very helpful

Hi Liz! Do you love shoulder bags or shopping totes? If so, then it wouldn’t be a problem getting a Goyard. Yes, the style or shape is pretty similar but both are iconic bags that you will equally love. The good thing with getting a Goyard is that you will have an alternate shopping tote in a different color. When you need a tote that’s not brown, you can go with a white or black Goyard. But, if you are the type of girl who wants different bag shapes/sizes/styles, then why not opt for a black or white Goyard Croisiere? It’s like Goyard’s version of LV Speedy, but a bit more expensive. Hope this helps.

i love totes because they are more easy to carry.. i think il go for the white cuz black and brown are quite similar ryt?;-) and i think the white dosnt get dirty since it is patent? thanks..:-)
