The 2009 Formula 1 Malaysian GP ended earlier than expected. Well, as everyone knew, we were expecting rain and thunderstorms to hit Malaysia. But apparently, the rain became really hard resulting to race suspension of the Malaysian GP in the middle of it. The race was suspended while heavy rains pour but eventually led to its end because it was already getting dark. So what happens to the race results? They didn’t reach 75% of the laps needed to complete so the winners will only take half the normal points.

Jenson Button didn’t start out so well. He was overtaken at the first lap which placed him in the third spot. Rubens Barrichello on the other hand had a great start. Nico Rosberg led the race in the early stages. Then it was Timo Glock who got the first position. But as the rain started to appear, Jenson Button and the Brawn GP Team came up with a great strategy. He emerged as the leader once more. And he was indeed lucky to take the lead at that time because if he didn’t and the race was suspended, he wouldn’t have been able to take home his second (in a row) 1st Place Podium finish this 2009 Formula 1 GP (third 1st place in his career). Oh and might I add, Jenson Button’s Japanese model girlfriend was their waving and blowing kisses as he took the top spot in the podium.
The heavy rains poured in the middle of race. The cars started spinning one by one until Formula 1 officials had to suspend the race. They waited in the grid until the rain has stopped but unfortunately it was already getting darker, making it impossible for drivers to race. Thus the 2009 Formula 1 Malaysian GP ended earlier than we have expected. So what happened to Ferrari? Again, wrong strategy of putting on full wet tires earlier than they are supposed to. At the same time, the KERS seems to be against them as they are having problems with it. To Ferrari: this is a wake up call!
