My Gucci Valentines

Remember last time I mentioned in one of my posts that there was a Gucci sale going on? Well I know they held so many sale events last Holiday season but this was the last one. They never removed the “sale” bags category until half way through January of 2009. So once they got a hold of the old stocks, returned items, stocks from other boutiques, they continue to add them in the Gucci online boutique. I was so lucky that before I looked at Gucci’s website, Hubby already told me (yes, he can’t keep a secret of what he’s going to give me – or at least I always find out, hehe) he was getting me the Louis Vuitton Damier Trunks Pochette I’ve been meaning to add to my Louis Vuitton Damier Speedy 30 – like an accessory, kaartehan for Valentines Day (EDIT: My LV Damier Speedy 30 was already sold!). The small pouch costs about $280 – a price that I don’t want to pay for wholeheartedly… I mean hello, it’s just a pouch and it costs $280… double that price and you get another Louis Vuitton Speedy already! So anyway, I was so lucky because when I was doing my daily surfing of my fave sites – Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, etc., I saw newly added bags at Gucci’s online boutique!

I saw the Gucci D-Ring Tote available in sand GG fabric with light gold trim. It was also available in a beige GG fabric with gold trim. There were also other bags available. There was the triangle one too. But because I don’t have this shape yet… and the shape was similar to the one that I originally wanted to get – the crystal fabric, I decided to go with this D-Ring Tote. I have always loved big bags. I actually regret not getting the 35 for my Louis Vuitton Damier since I already bought the 30 Monogram previously. Argh. Bad decision! Going back, you won’t believe this but this Gucci D-Ring Tote, originally at $960, was on sale for only $379! OMG! I immediately showed Hubby the bag. And he immediately said, YES! After all, this $379 Gucci D-Ring Tote is REAL value for money as compared to the $280 Louis Vuitton Damier Trunks pouch! So, we got it right away! Yay!

It arrived a couple of weeks ago but I promised Hubby I won’t open it and he can keep it from me until Valentines Day. Yesterday was the big day. We had so much fun (I’ll talk about it in another post) and of course, I already got my Valentines gift… the Gucci D-Ring Tote! Yay. It’s really big. I’m pretty sure those who are accustomed to smaller handbags won’t like this bag that much. But as I said previously, I love big bags. My purpose of choosing this bag was to have a shopping tote for Spring! It’s perfect! In fact, as I was looking at how big it was, I even thought that it can be a multipurpose bag – I can use it to carry my laptop to a cafe or wherever. And you know what? This is funny. I was in the Church when I was looking at a diaper bag because it was color pink – which was probably bought for their baby girl. However, the girl was all grown up and now they are using the diaper bag for their baby boy. So I thought, they should have gotten a diaper bag that’s unisex because the bag was too girly to bring with a baby boy… Then I thought about the diaper bag that I’ll get when I have my baby… then a great idea came upon me – haha – why not use the Gucci D-Ring Tote occasionally as a diaper bag? Haha… I’m crazy. I know. But I’m also serious. Why not, right?

Lastly, I got a gold color because of two things: (1) it will perfectly match my gold VNC wedge sandals (you can check out the photo below, it was like a match made in heaven), and (2) it was one of the cheapest bags available along with the white boston bag that Lush Angel wanted to get (which I also liked after seeing it in person – my friend Thea has one). So I didn’t mind getting the gold – it’s nice anyway and I have always loved the gold color! So there. Check out my new Gucci D-Ring Tote… an addition to my craziness… Hehe
