Darya Restaurant at Orange

Posted on January 20th, 2009 by Fashion Juice (Admin) | Leave a Comment »

One of the best fine dining restaurants I’ve tried in our recent trip to California is Darya Restaurant at Orange County. Well, the dishes are relatively priced for a fine dining resto actually. So it’s a smart and good choice if you are craving for some Persian Cuisine…

When you visit the complex/area where Darya Restaurant can be found, you’ll instantly get curious on what Darya is all about. It’s very classy indeed – with servers in black suits, dim lights, gorgeous valances, and candles and flowers on the table – it’s a great setting for a dinner date or a family banquet!

Now if you love Persian Cuisine, like i do, you will enjoy their food. All I can say is “MAZA”, the Farsi word for delicious! Farsi is the most widely spoken Persian language. Below were our orders that night. Me and my Aunt both ordered the chicken and beef kebab. It comes with Basmati rice, and Indian long grain rice, served with lemon, roasted tomatoes (yummy!), and Barley soup (my first time to try). Everything was okay. I wasn’t just that into barley soup but it’s fine with me. If you haven’t tried it, then it’s time to do so just for the experience. Who knows you might like it. :) Next, the second image is the boneless chicken kebab which was ordered by our Uncle. The third one is the boneless lamb kebab – my favorite! I asked Hubby to order it because we always try out each others orders and because I was shy to order the most expensive meal for my own because it was his Uncle’s treat. Haha. :) Oh by the way, don’t order one entree to split to two – they have a split charge of $8.00. They also have a corkage fee of $15 if you’re bringing in wine or something. :)

Now if you don’t want to try it still, here’s proof that Darya Restaurant is indeed one of the best restaurant of its kind. It is listed at Zagat’s and has had so many other reviews and praises. I should have asked hubby to take picture of a big wall full of framed reviews. But hey, I guess these three reviews would be enough to get you curious!

So if you are craving for Persian Cuisine and you’re near OC, then why not try Darya? I’m telling you, you’ll love their kebabs! Check their website here.
