Prada Following the Footsteps of Louis Vuitton

Why on earth would Prada do this? Louis Vuitton’s Neverfull bag is already among its iconic bags. This design has been one of their classics for ages. I am disappointed at Prada for making almost exactly the same design for their Spring Collection. Take a look at the Prada Tessuto + Saffiano Tote. They shouldn’t have done this! Seriously!
While I have to admit that I thought twice about this bag (thinking that I like the Louis Vuitton Neverfull Tote but I wasn’t too happy about it’s strap, and this – even though thinner – will probably handle wear and tear better), it still hit me that – this is a big no – the Neverfull Tote is a Louis Vuitton Icon – and I shouldn’t be getting the exact design from someone else! A tote similar in shape is alright but once you copy the adjustable side straps, the size, and the length of the strap… that’s different.
And now this? The infamous speedy design… this is the Prada Tessuto + Saffiano Bowler. Well this one is forgiveable because there are just too many bowlers same as the shape of the Louis Vuitton Speedy. Goyard has it. Fendi has it. Gucci has it. And now Prada has it. I’m impressed with Chanel though, because their bowler bags such as the cambon bowler, are unique even though the shape is quite similar to the Speedy bag. Oh well… just sharing the new bags from the Prada Spring ‘09 collection.
