Golden Globes 2009 Celebrity Fashions

I know I’m a tad bit late on posting this. I just have so many things to do for the past few days. At the same time, I’m still stick. Caught the flu last week as we were heading home. So anyways, let me share with you the celebrity fashions last Sunday night at the Golden Globes 2009 Awards. Here are my thoughts on the best-dressed, the not-so-best-dressed, and the “what-were-you-thinking-dressed”. Haha. I did not include everyone here. In fact, I am only featuring the ladies that made an impact on me. This is just my personal opinion which I’m sharing with you. So feel free to give your own opinions.

Obviously, the best dressed celebrity at the Golden Globes 2009 (FOR ME) was Kate Beckinsale… That’s why she is the main feature of this post. While there were a lot of contenders that night, there’s not a thing that I don’t like about her in this photo. In fact, it gets even better if you see her up close. The chandelier earrings she were wearing made a great statement jewelry for her chic and simply elegant look matched by the up do!

The Runners-Up!

It was a close call between these three lovely ladies: Heidi Klum, Jennifer Lopez, and Demi Moore. I love Heidi Klum – she has always been on the best-dressed lists! Just look at her black strappy sandals. I wouldn’t think of wearing such for a red-carpet event. But she did it! She carries herself well. I just didn’t choose her as the best dressed because this outfit will also work for less-glam events… meaning, it’s not as elegant as the gown Kate wore. They cannot be compared because they are two different outfits. In which case, I think Kate Beckinsale’s is more appropriate for the Golden Globes. Another contender is Jennifer Lopez. She almost looks perfect in this frock… except for one thing – this dress is too revealing that I can actually see the little baby bulge on the side. I wonder if it’s really bulging from another angle. Yes, I’m that keen. I look at everything. Lastly, Demi Moore. She looks so good at her age. She still looks like that surfer babe from Charlie’s Angels… perfect tan and beach hair – which all matched her gorgeous gown and bling bling.

Second Runners-Up (in no particular order)

The Forgiven

Even if some of these ladies belong to the worst-dressed lists in other websites, I’m going to forgive them because it’s not that all bad… Amanda Seyfried – just make sure to choose a different color next time. America Ferrera – you’re better off with a long gown. Debra Messing – the top of the dress looks fabulous so the overly ruffled bottom can be forgiven. Kyra Sedgwick – the red dress is drowning in the carpet. Laura Linney – you usually dress well, this yellow gown is okay but doesn’t live up to the past gowns you’ve worn. Maggie Gyllenhaal – I’d forgive you because this is Lanvin’s upcoming dress (it’s runway worthy). Elizabeth Banks – it would be better without too much ruffles/ruching???

What were they thinking?

Megan Fox – we know you’re hot, but this outfit seems to be trashy (no offense). Olivia Wilde – challenging Barbie. Renee Zellweger – hot mess of a hair. Rumer Willis – you’re this year’s Miss Golden Globes, but I don’t like the belt and the hair. Blake Lively – the dress, please? and the shoe? Cameron Diaz – looking old and the messy hair? Drew Barrymore – don’t like anything at all. Hayden Panettiere – omg, this dress is not flattering at all! Jenna Fischer – floral frock? It’s not even spring!
