Yes, by now, all of the Chanel and handbag lovers in general are probably enjoying their great Chanel bargains. Thanks to the economy (not that we are happy about it, of course we want the economy to improve not fail), Chanel has provided numerous sales throughout the country. Chanel Departments at Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom in particular, were the ones who gave out the biggest discounts in hand bags! Oh my! Lush Angel and I got crazy again. Imagine, the Chanel Grand Shopping Tote and the Chanel Medallion were $1,275 when I actually got my Black Medallion for $2,125! Of course, who wouldn’t grab that big opportunity right there and then! The thing is, they are only offering the sale for the Beige ones… the darker beige ones. But, that’s exactly what I want! The beige GST…
Of course, the Medallion on the other hand was perfect for Lush Angel since she already has the smaller version of the Grand Shopping Tote, which is PST. So imagine our excitement! But, you are probably wondering why are the beige GST’s and beige Medallion’s on sale? For those who like the beige color, don’t worry. It doesn’t mean that your beige Chanel is of lesser value. It’s not also defective even though the cut from $2,125 to $1,275 seems too good to be true. The thing is, the BEIGE… the darker BEIGE that we have gotten used to… and that I am so in love with, is already being phased out! Chanel is replacing the darker BEIGE with a lighter BEIGE – which is actually lovely too but my heart still seeks the darker BEIGE. So imagine how crazy I got.
The one I really like – the darker BEIGE, is almost half the price of the original. Plus, the darker BEIGE is already being disposed! So chances are, if I don’t buy now, I will never be able to have a GST in the dark BEIGE that I like. So, any right mind would probably take the bait. This deal was too good to pass up…
That’s why like me, the rest of the handbag lovers and Chanel lovers in particular, also took the bait! Lush Angel and I were so excited to ring in our orders… but we were too late. The GST and Medallion with that price (Nordstrom) are now all gone… sigh!

I still can’t get over this… I am sooo disappointed… I really, really hope that there will be another sale! Even just for a day… PLEASE!!! But if Chanel answers our prayers, we have to make sure we won’t be late anymore!!! LOL!

@Readers: Correction to the post – There were two dark beige colors previously, the older being yellowish in color and the second similar to camel color. What I like is the camel one and thankfully they are discontinuing the yellowish one! Nevertheless, the GST’s in beige are almost gone because of the sale!

Hi Ashley, Saks, Nordstrom, Neiman’s, and Bloomingdales are still having a Chanel sale. You should go to one of their stores that carry Chanel. These stores don’t feature Chanel in their websites because Chanel does not permit online shopping for their bags. However, Chanel is already working on an online shopping site. In fact, they launched it Oct/Nov but it was just for VIP customers. You can take a look at the site here: http://www.chanel-exclusives.com/. Nevertheless, I would suggest either going to one of the big retailers I’ve mentioned above, or call them to ask what they have on sale.
If you really want to buy Chanel online, your best bet would be other owners who are selling their Chanel bags. However, there is a risk in buying from others directly because you’re not 100% sure that they are real. You can also check out Bluefly.com. They are already selling AUTHENTIC Chanel pieces at discount prices. However, it’s not as low as the prices you’ll see at the ongoing sale in stores. I highly suggest you check out the nearest dept store near you!

Hi Darcy, if you noticed, the top part of the handle (the part that sits on the shoulder) is made of leather. The rest is made up of chain. There are no GSTs with all leather handles. If you want an all-leather handle, you might want to try the Medallion.

hey.. i’m just wondering different between grand shopping tote and large shopping tote. is there any different? cause i’m worried because i would ask my friend to buy in europe but i’m so scared if they will but the wrong one. nowadays chanel classic flap bag are so many people use it. do you think if i buy large shopping tote is the best choice?

Hi Von, I’m guessing the large shopping tote you’re referring to is the Grand Shopping Tote (GST) since the small one is the PST (petite shopping tote). Note that the large shopping tote is a general term for all the large shopping totes Chanel has. They’ve got the rodeo shopping totes that come in a large size. They’ve got the Cabas/Melrose shopping tote, etc… If you like the GST, then tell your friend to buy you a GST. Any Chanel boutique will know what that is without a doubt. Just tell your friend what color and what material you like – caviar (calf leather) or the patent (shiny). GST is a great choice.

Hi Lori, as far as I know, there are no silver GST in caviar. There are however silver Chanel flap bags but I haven’t heard or seen of a silver GST. Perhaps you mean silver hardware?
