My Experience with Louis Vuitton Neverfull in Damier

I never had a Louis Vuitton that has a thin strap as the Neverfull style. My other Louis Vuitton bags are Speedy and Hampstead, and both have earned my trust when it comes to durability and quality.
Recently, I ordered the much awaited Louis Vuitton Neverfull in Damier Ebene/Ebony. I love the bag so much and I figured I needed a Louis Vuitton shoulder bag for shopping! Yes, a shopping tote – that is the reason why I wanted to get the Neverfull – a shoulder bag that I can just toss around. Not! I was wrong. Why? Continue reading to know why I’m so bummed right now (or at least last Black Friday)!
I was quite disappointed. Ever since buying it, I only used my Louis Vuitton Neverfull bag TWO times. I don’t even think the FIRST time counted because the first time I used it, I was just visiting my O-B-G-Y-N.
1ST USE SCENARIO: Brought my bag to the car and went to visit the Doctor. Arrived at the Doctor’s clinic after 10 minutes. Let my bag sit on a chair while I consult with my doctor. After 30 minutes I’m done. Went back to the car with my bag on my lap and headed home. Unloaded my stuff and kept my LV NF in the dust bag and then in the box.
2ND USE SCENARIO: It was Thanksgiving Sale and we went to Allen Premium Outlets for shopping. Thus, I decided to bring my new shopping tote – the Louis Vuitton Damier Neverfull. I carried it on my shoulder then wrapped myself with a swing coat (wide, not fit). This means, my LV is also protected from bumping into people, etc. What’s inside the bag: wallet, sunglasses, just one mobile phone, mini cosmetic bag, car keys, and mini notebook. After 2 hours, when we took a break to eat, I noticed this:
After that, I immediately, removed the cosmetic bag. I got my keys and kept it in my coat’s pocket. I placed the mini notebook in one of our shopping bags together with my sunglasses (inside it’s case). So all that is left inside the bag is my wallet and cellphone. If that is all I can carry in my bag, then it defeats the purpose of being a shopping tote! The two outer straps (while carrying the bag in my shoulder) were still in great condition as seen below. However, the inner back strap looks worn out while the front inner strap is starting to show signs of wear and tear (but not as visible as those you’ve seen above). Nevertheless, I am disappointed with the Neverfull Damier. I’m not sure, but I think, it’s just for the brown leather. The vachetta of the Neverfull Monogram seems to be more durable. So perhaps I’ll just take that? Haha.
Last Saturday, I was supposed to publish this. In fact, for a couple of minutes, this post was published. But I had to remove and edit this because I am now officially happy with Louis Vuitton, especially with the LV store in Galleria Dallas. I will forever be a faithful customer of Louis Vuitton. Haha! I didn’t even have to explain a thing. They just took it right away and was told to get whatever I like. So, I went ahead and looked around. Oh by the way, the LV store in Galleria Dallas is the most populated store I’ve seen so far (in the US). Well I’m sure West Coast stores probably have more customers coming in and out. But based on my experience, LV Galleria Dallas has the most customers (on a weekend, of course).
So I looked around and was hoping to get a different style. To my dismay, they don’t have the one I was planning to get. Then I headed on to the Mini Lin. I like the Speedy Mini Lin too, but Hubby doesn’t want me to get it because of the fabric. He wants a leather. So, because I have been liking the Speedy Damier Ebene too, I asked the SA to get me that to try. She gave me the 25 and 30. Actually, at first, I thought the 25 was also nice. But again, Hubby wants a bigger bag (which of course I also want). So, I ended up getting the Speedy 30 in Damier Ebene. I love it! It’s really better to buy in store than online. They gave me a different box – a hard box that can fit the Speedy 30 without having to fold it. It was perfectly wrapped with ribbons, etc. Also, the hardware came in boxes. My previous LV bags didn’t have the locks or keys in boxes. So from now on, if I ever plan on getting another Louis Vuitton bag, it must be at Galleria Dallas!
