A Mustard Yellow Outfit and Color Coding Scheme

If only I had the moolah to splurge, this would be one of the “Everyday” outfits I’d wear…

Gaga over Mustard Yellow by fashionjuice
One of the fashionable colors, must I say, is mustard yellow. It brings out luscious handbags to life! That’s why I’ve chosen this yellow Balenciaga crocodile leather in mustard, matched with L.A.M.B.’s gorgeous booties! Now you know what to give me for Christmas and my Birthday. Haha! Anyway, I’ve put together this outfit as a casual look (even if there’s a shiny Donna Karan Cashmere top included) but perhaps will be wearing something like it on a Sunday. Why? Let me reveal a secret I’ve been keeping.
A “not-so-secret” secret (because I’ve told some of my friends about it) I’ll reveal to you is back when I was still going to the office for work… I have my own “color coding” scheme.
For those who don’t know the “color coding” scheme in the Philippines, it’s about the license plates (ID tags for some countries). There’s one day that your car can’t go out in the streets of Makati City (business district) and other major cities and other major roads around Metro Manila, depending on the last digit of your tags/plates. As to why they named it color coding – that is the question! Haha!
Anyway, I had my own color coding scheme. In fact, sometimes, if I ever remember it, I still follow it to this day.
So what is my Color Coding Scheme all about?
I read in this certain book a lucky color for each day. So, ever since reading about it, I’ve been choosing my outfits based on the lucky color of the day. Funny – I know I just said in my previous post about Polka Dots that I’m not that superstitious. But there’s nothing wrong to follow them, right? Added luck would be greatly appreciated and it actually helped me lessen my time deciding on what outfit to wear for the day. It usually takes 2-3 hours of dressing up, modelling, and tossing up before I decide what to wear. So restricting myself to a certain color actually helped. Haha!
So what are the lucky colors for each day?
- Sunday – Yellow, touches of gold (oranges and peach can be substituted based on my findings, haha)
- Monday – Red, or shades of red (I consider Pink in this category, hehe)
- Tuesday – Blue
- Wednesday – Green
- Thursday – Dark Purple, Violet, Plum *
- Friday – White
- Saturday – Lavender *
* I always confuse the two. I actually cant remember if the lavender is for Thursdays or Saturdays and vice versa. But since they’re both in the same family, perhaps I’ve mixed them all the time.
So anyway, that’s it. That’s the color-coding scheme I follow. You might have noticed that there’s no black in there, even if one of my favorite colors to wear, aside from white, is black. Well, I guess black is something you can wear anytime you feel like it or anytime you want to dress up and feel sexy…
Black will always be the color where you can never go wrong!
xoxo
