Official Opening of Atlantis, The Palm Dubai
OMG! I just have to feature this. This is just something a true fashionista would like to go to… a red carpet event where you can flaunt a fabulous Marchesa dress and Louboutin shoes and rub shoulders with the most fashionable and wealthy people in the world as you join in the celebration of an opening night for one of the “Modern Wonders of the World”! If only…
United Arab Emirates opens Atlantis, The Palm Resort, an ultra-luxury hotel costing an estimated $1.5 billion dollars to build and boasts 1,539 rooms, yesterday, November 20, 2008. I even heard they paid Kylie Minogue $3.5 M or about GBP 1.5 M, to perform on the opening night. So are you curious how Kylie was? I’ve got a couple of photos of the opening as well as the celebrities who attended the event, not to mention a video to share with you all the glitz and glamour of the night.
Let’s first check out the celebrities and what they are donning in this world-class red carpet event. You’ll find the likes of Charlize Theron, Mary-Kate Olsen, Michael Jordan, Lindsay Lohan among other Hollywood Celebrities and Royalties in the photos and in the video of the opening of Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai. Oh and by the way, don’t forget to watch out for the fireworks display. It was pretty amazing. I enjoyed the video so make sure to watch it!
The opening was really extravagant! The event was overflowing with celebs. They closed the whole palm jumeirah and the roads leading to that. The roads in Dubai were CHAOTIC!!! The fireworks were not so spectacular as advertised though! They claimed they’ve beaten the Olympics opening in China! NOT!!! but, i’ll give them a credit for all the effort!
