Short Dresses: How to Wear Featuring Dresses from KAT

As mentioned in my previous post about gifts from Manila, I promised to feature more of those stuff especially the dresses Lush Angel has sent me. Super thanks by the way!
Actually, I lost count of the dresses and I’m not sure how many were left with me. Let’s talk about that tomorrow. Hehe. So anyway, I have here three of the dresses she gave me. Instead of just featuring the dresses as gifts, I decided to write a couple of tips on how to wear short dresses anytime of the year and in various styles. Also, it’s a great way to spread the word on these cute “KAT” dresses. Check them out below.
The ”KAT” dresses are among the dresses that she and two of her best friends design and sell especially during the Holiday Season. “KAT” comes from the initials of the three lovely ladies.
Anyways, in the Philippines, bazaars are so popular during the Holidays. I for one, along with my good friends from my previous company do bazaars not just for the money but for the fun of it! Let me show you the short dresses Lush Angel sent to me a couple of weeks ago and let me show you how to wear them ala Fashion Juice.
Let’s start with the little black dress (LBD). KAT takes the LBD to the next level by giving it 3/4 sleeves and turtleneck. The moment I saw this dress among those she sent me, I immediately decided to get this since it will be more useful in the US than in the Philippines. It’s perfect for Fall and Winter season. This dress is so versatile such that you can wear it with tights or leggings for colder seasons. You can also wear it with black boots or even caramel-colored boots and add the same caramel color in your accessories such as a bag.
Now what I haven’t been able to share in this blog is how Texans dress. I was quite surprised to know (more of ignorant, hehe) that Texans are among the most patriotic people in the US (not that I’ve been to all the states). But among the states I’ve been to, Texas always have that star (their flag) in their bridges, freeways, etc. The Texas Longhorns logo can be seen a lot. When you go to bars and the fast dance songs are over, they play country music and everyone sings (even teenagers, college people, and young professionals). And, almost everywhere I go, I see old men wearing cowboy hats and boots and young ladies wearing cowboy boots with shorts, dresses, pants! Thus, a tribute to the Texans, I’m pairing my dress with the brown Cowboy-like boots.
If you don’t like the thought of it, there’s the black suede boots that will keep you warm during the cold season too.
Now when things get colder and more windy, we can still wear this super cute blue dress with a motorcycle jacket and tights or leggings. Thought it’s time to store them for summer next year? Think again. What’s great about it is that you can keep yourself from the cold even with a dress and be fashionable at the same time. I’m loving this look. Aside from the fact that the motorcycle jacket is hot nowadays, the edgy look which is so popular these days is also achieved with this look!
Of course the blue dress will work best during the warmer months of the year such as in spring and summer. What’s also great about this blue dress is that it comes with a tie/fabric belt that you can wear above the waist, low waist, and exactly at the waist. Also, Lush Angel showed me a link of a similar blue dress at Top Shop. It’s great to know that instead of getting a higher priced dress, you can simply get one from “KAT” and still end up with the same fashionable outfit! So going back, if you’d like a fashionable summer dress, this will surely do. At the same time, pair it up with spring or summer footwear such as this cute wedge from VNC.
Last but not the least, the olive green dress is so cute with or without the white tee inside. The only problem is that the peep hole is quite big and low so you better get a cover or just use a fit tee to cover that up. Again, you can wear them with or without leggings or tights. I don’t recommend adding in a belt because it already has a big bow in the middle. You don’t want to overdo it now would you?
If you like the dresses I’ve featured here, check out “KAT” dresses in their Multiply site. Unfortunately, the photos for the new collection hasn’t been uploaded yet. I hear they’re going to have a photoshoot so watch out for that one!
xoxo
