Benefit Lip Gloss Review

For years (literally speaking), I have had my eye on Benefit makeup. I first heard it from my friend Carla asking me if I’ve tried Benefit. Perhaps she has heard good things about it in the Philippines. At first, I had no clue. But when I visited malls and department stores, there it was. I just didn’t notice it because I didn’t know about it until she told me. And as I flip through magazines, there it was again… used and recommended by a lot of Hollywood celebrities.
I always had the urge to try a number of their products. For one, their blush in a box is among the popular blushes that I’ve been meaning to try. I also wanted to try the Benetint – the revolutionary cheek and lip stain, which was actually what made them famous. And there’s also the powderflage a camouflage concealer for dark circles, boo boos, fine lines, and so on. While I had my eye on so many things, I don’t want to spend so much on a lot of makeup since I rarely use them. I just have my usual powder and lip color/gloss and the occasional use of blush (because I look really pale).
Since my powder and blush will still last a couple more weeks or even months, I just opted for lip gloss instead. I recently bought a bareMinerals lipstick and I use a clear regular lip gloss on top of it to make it shine. But perhaps I want something more shimmery and something of neutral color (since it’s becoming a Hollywood trend nowadays). I saw this Benefit Lip Gloss, “Her Glossiness” for $18. So I opted for that.
I was actually going for something more neutral like perhaps a nude color but this Benefit lip gloss is so sold out. The nude colors and pink colors I wanted were out of stock at Macy’s. Thus, I ended up going for this in between pink and nude color called “Life on the A List” – feeling Hollywood Celebrity! LOL!
So anyways, the verdict? Two thumbs up! Shiny and shimmery it is. It has a fruity scent and it just completes any look! I’m loving it. Oh and by the way, I apply this Benefit lip gloss on top of the bareMinerals lipstick but the applicator seems to avoid dark lipstick stains. Great!
