Valentine’s Day Dinner Date at Pisces

What: Valentine’s Day Dinner Date
Where: Pisces Seafood Restaurant at Hyatt Regency Hotel
When: Feb. 14, 2008 (duh); reservation at 930 pm

So I was not expecting any special dinner as we were saving up for something big. Imagine my surprise when I discovered we were eating at a hotel. Discovered. I’ve always found out about my hubby’s surprises… On my ’07 bday, hubby and I ate at Bistro 300 Resto also located at Hyatt Regency. We (more of I) thought of eating at Pisces in the future. Based on previous exp, he always managed to take note of those kind of things in his head even if he is “Mr. Forgetful Bob”. So come next special occasion, I already know the surprise. This time though, I was so busy with work and blog and chores that I wasn’t really putting much thought on V-Day (except for what to wear). So I had no idea. But on the day itself, he kept telling me that if we cancel, he’ll be charged $50. So, that’s what made me curious. I thought we were just having dinner at Olive Garden’s, Red Lobster, or something to that effect…

They were only serving their Valentine menu (pics below)…  a four-course menu of crab salad, lobster with heart beets, choice of filet mignon, black snapper, or lemon glazed cod, and dessert which included the chocolate truffle with chocolate dipped strawberries, and a banana custard of some sort… Dessert was served with champagne. The food was divine! I had filet mignon for the main course and hubby got the cod. They even gave me a rose! Pisces is by far the best seafood resto with a great view of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. The price – $150 per couple, not including the Merlot red wine we ordered. Total was a little over $200. Whew… major damage! Although I must say that the price was actually okay for the great service, picturesque view, and delicioso food!

About the Valentine date outfit… I wasn’t sure of what to wear… I’ve never worn red on V-day but since I was getting carried away with the runway collections I’ve been writing about, I told myself why not? So I went and searched for my red Sasch trousers… Then I found my deep purple Calvin Klein top that I haven’t worn since I got it. So I thought, what if I try the two together. Too high fashion, too bold for me. I can see it in the runway but not on me! See pics of the (FEELING) MODEL below. So I pulled out my MNG (Mango) jeans instead. I was wearing an amethyst (deep purple) on yellow gold setting necklace my Dad gave me. Then I added light green glass stones necklace with yellow (too) gold chain from MNG (Mango). So I thought the Steve Madden silver sandals just won’t do. It’s too silver. So I decided on my ever-reliable black Juicy Couture rounded pumps. And because my houndstooth coat is long gone, I’m left with a black Old Navy baby doll trench. Got my evening bag from Calvin Klein too.

All the talk about fashion is what’s causing this! Haha :)
