Alice + Olivia Spring Collection

Posted on February 8th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin)

Alice + Olivia has recently featured their Spring Collection at Neiman Marcus. What can I say? A small girl has something big to offer. Stacey Bendet (the designer) reuses previous trends and turns them into something glamorous. Her clothing line is so fun and colorful! Great clothes for saying bye-bye to gloomy Winter and hello to a bright Summer! I personally love and recommend these dresses slash tops:

Match with baggy slacks for Casual Fridays (like what Stacey was wearing in the interview):

Yellow Pleated-Trim Silk Dress

Pair with Pumps or Strappy Sandals for a Glam Dinner:

Green Silk Halter Dress

With or Without Black or Gray Tights or Slim Slacks for an Afternoon Business Affair:

MacBook Air (Fashionista’s Notebook)

Posted on February 8th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin)

As you all have probably heard, the thinnest notebook is here… except that Sony has released a notebook that is 0.01 thinner back in 2003 (will confirm the year). But anyway, the important thing is that it’s the latest thinnest notebook having a lot of cool stuff to feature like the LED display, more than triple battery life compared to others, and the keyboard that glows. The downside… don’t expect a DVD or Blu-ray disc drive, or even more than one USB port. Indeed, the MacBook Air is a Fashionista’s notebook. If you only need to surf the net and do basics, this is all you need. If that’s the only thing I do, I’d probably get one. But the Fashionista in me can’t win this one. I have a lot of computer applications that need more than what the MacBook Air has to offer. Still, I have to give it to Mac for producing some of the yummiest gadgets today. La la la la la la…

No Bake Cheesecake Ala Cris

Posted on February 8th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin)

This yummy cheesecake doesn’t need any baking or cooking. But no-bake doesn’t compromise the taste of cheesecake at all! So if you are looking for something easy to whip up in the kitchen, this no-bake cheesecake recipe is the answer. Go ahead and give in to your craving! If you want a light cheesecake, simply replace ingredients with the light or non-fat version. If you want an oreo cheesecake, simply use oreo cookies for the pie and put ground oreos in your cheese mixture. Top with bite-size oreos instead of berries. Yum!

Banana Cake

Posted on February 8th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin)

This all-time classic is such a breeze to make! If you’re looking for something to make out of those bananas just sitting in your kitchen, banana cake is the answer! My mom makes this all the time. I especially love the outer part. I love nibbling on that crusty-like texture. I don’t like nuts in my cake but I added it here in case you’re a nut-lover. Anyway, here’s the recipe. Happy baking!

Broiled Chicken With Raita

Posted on February 8th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin)

Don’t you just love Mediterranean food? From time to time, I crave for some Mediterranean slash Indian dishes. Back in Manila, my Team Lead introduced me to this great Indian Restaurant, Ziggurat (see pic below). The place is small but cozy! Customers sit on pillows as they enjoy delicious food. They have Hookah by the way. Another resto that I love is Cafe Mediterranean. They’ve got branches at Greenbelt, Rockwell, and Alabang. I’m just not sure about the other branches, but before I get carried away, here’s a recipe of Broiled Chicken with Raita. I soooo love Raita! I use it as a dip not just for chicken but for beef, pork, and even chips!

Korean Short Ribs

Posted on February 8th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin)

I love Korean food. Aside from Italian, Mediterranean, Chinese, American, and Filipino cuisine, Korean is something I crave from time to time. I especially love their hot and spicy noodles! I love their version of stir-fried noodles, their tofu, their beef bulgogi, etc, etc, etc. I was introduced to Korean dishes way back when my Dad set up a company with Koreans. There’s this upscale Korean resto along Jupiter Street that serves authentic Korean food! I only go there with my Dad when meeting with clients/colleagues. Another authentic Korean resto that’s more affordable is Kaya Restaurant. There’s one in Rockwell and Jupiter Street as well. I learned just now that there’s one in Columbus, Ohio! I am so going there this coming 2008 DSM Shoot-out! Anyway, here’s a recipe of one of my favorite Korean dishes…

Olive Garden’s Fettuccine Alfredo

Posted on February 8th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin)

Don’t you just love pasta? Who doesn’t? This pasta recipe comes straight from the kitchen of Olive Garden! This Fettuccine Alfredo is so divine. I remember way back in highschool, there’s this concessionaire selling Fettuccine which I really really love. During Holy Week, there’s no meat to be found in our canteen. But I don’t mind at all, because they still serve Fettuccine with mushrooms instead of bacon bits. I don’t feel Holy Week abstinence at all! Anyway, this recipe from Olive Garden restaurant reminds me of that creamy sauce. Delicioso!

Grilled Teriyaki Chicken

Posted on February 8th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin)

This is not your usual Chicken Teriyaki recipe. Chicken Teriyaki is usually made up of small cuts or pieces of chicken with a thick yummy sauce. This is entirely different. This recipe calls for big chicken cuts. It only makes use of that Teriyaki sauce as marinade and that’s just about how Teriyaki it gets. Here, we’ll cook the chicken in a turbo broiler or grill. The picture below shows how mine turned out. Sorry about the photo as I was in a hurry I only used my mobile phone to take it.

Chocolate Oreo Cake

Posted on February 8th, 2008 by Fashion Juice (Admin)

Chocolate Oreo Cake Beware of this indulgent cake as it is an epitome of temptation. Do not make this cake on a regular basis if you want to keep your figure. Imagine, this oozing recipe is a mix of chocolate cake and cheesecake in one! Very deadly indeed… I’ve discovered this recipe from my FREE subscription of KRAFT Food & Family magazine. Of course you can always go to the KRAFT website for more sumptuous delights! The picture above is something I got from their site. I wasn’t able to take a picture of the one I made for my niece Yanna’s piano recital (it was the first to be depleted… hehe). I’ll update this image once I get the chance to make another Chocolate Oreo Cake. But don’t expect it anytime soon as I plan to keep my figure for as long as I can… haha :)
